I'm not sure if there is an issue with Angular versions prior to 9.

Description

Fails to run ng commands.

🔬 Minimal Reproduction

1. Install node.js 11.3.
2. Install Angular CLI 9
3. Try to create a new application.

Note: ng version doesn't work on node.js 11.3. The below output is from downgrading to node.js 10.15

Hi @thomasoreilly, that is indeed correct and expected.

Angular CLI requires a current, active LTS, or maintenance LTS version of Node (https://angular.io/guide/setup-local#nodejs). which version 11 isn't.

Node.JS 11 is no longer supported by the Node.Js team as after six months, odd-numbered releases (9, 11, etc.) become unsupported. More info: https://nodejs.org/en/about/releases

My recommendation would be to update to Node 12+
