Anilife 0.1.0 beta 2

Anilife beta 2 is the next Android and Android TV tester build. It remains a prerelease until real-device testing is complete.

Highlights

• Keeps Legacy navigation as the default and adds the optional Cinema navigation layout.
• Refines the round launcher artwork, pure-black single-logo startup, theme-matched startup animations, About copy, Discord link, and Anilife website links.
• Adds signed project announcements and Standard or Enhanced local diagnostic detail, independent from upload consent.
• Adds manual diagnostic export/upload and optional daily redacted uploads. Automatic upload is off by default; accepted reports are private and retained for 30 days.
• Expands correlated startup, home, detail, network, playback, buffering, and upload diagnostics while redacting sensitive values.
• Publishes user documentation at https://docs.anilife.cc and establishes a version changelog from beta 1 onward.
• Hardens signed release checks, checksums, SBOMs, provenance, mappings, and 16 KiB native-library alignment.

Tester focus

• Update an installed beta 1 build to beta 2 with Receive beta updates enabled.
• Check startup animation and loading against several themes and confirm Legacy navigation remains unchanged.
• Try Cinema navigation, phone and TV remote focus, playback, subtitles, downloads, account sync, announcements, and diagnostic consent/revocation.
• Report the device, Android or Fire OS version, selected APK, and redacted diagnostics when something fails.

Do not post account tokens, cookies, provider credentials, private media URLs, or unredacted diagnostics in public issues.

This prerelease is for Discord testers. It is not yet a stable hardware-validated release.

Highlights

• New Anilife logo, launcher artwork, wordmark, TV banner, and startup animation on phone and TV.
• New black-and-green Anilife appearance, with the previous monochrome look retained as
  Legacy Midnight in Settings.
• Lightweight logo water-fill for full-screen loading; small inline waits keep the standard
  progress indicator.
• Optional beta update channel under Settings > App > Receive beta updates. It is off by
  default, so normal installs continue to check stable releases only.
• Downloaded updates verify the signed manifest, checksum, package/build metadata, device ABI and
  form factor, and the installed app's signing certificate before Android is asked to install.

Install

Choose the APK for the device and architecture, or use the universal phone/TV APK. Verify the
download against SHA256SUMS before installing. Existing Anilife builds with the same package and
release certificate can update in place.

Hardware validation still needed

The automated mobile/TV suites pass, but this beta has not yet been validated on real phones,
Android TV/Google TV, Fire TV or API 22 hardware. Testers should cover remote focus/navigation,
provider playback, downloads, backup/restore, in-app update installation, subtitles, low-memory
recovery, and accessibility. Please include the device, OS/API level, selected APK, and redacted
diagnostics in reports.
