Release v0.3.3
Anycode v0.3.3
Anycode v0.3.3 is a patch release fixing SIGILL (illegal instruction) crashes at startup in the Linux Desktop build (anycode-desktop) on older x86-64 processors and hypervisors, adding the anycode update self-update CLI command, publishing the Desktop auto-updater manifest (latest.json), and pinning CI Linux runners to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS.
Desktop & Linux Binary Compatibility
- x86-64 Baseline for Desktop & All x86_64 Targets: Enforced baseline
x86-64instruction generation (-C target-cpu=x86-64 -C target-feature=-avx,-avx2,-bmi,-bmi2,-fma,-f16candCFLAGS/CXXFLAGS-march=x86-64 -mtune=generic -mno-avx -mno-avx2 -mno-fma -mno-bmi -mno-bmi2 -mno-f16c) across Desktop (anycode-desktop) and CLI builds. Prevents bundled C dependencies (such aslibsqlite3-sys) from emittingFMA3(vfmadd213sd) instructions that crash on pre-Haswell CPUs (e.g. Intel Sandy Bridge / Ivy Bridge) and virtualized environments. - Ubuntu 24.04 LTS CI Runners: Pinned Linux CI and release builds to
ubuntu-24.04LTS instead of floatingubuntu-latestto ensure consistentglibcand toolchain baselines across releases. - Automated CI ISA Verification: Added post-build disassembly checks (
objdump -d) in CI for both CLI and Desktop binaries to automatically reject accidentalFMAinstructions before packaging.
Self-Update & Desktop Auto-Updater
- CLI Self-Update (
anycode update): Added built-inanycode update(andanycode --update/-u) command supporting--check,--version <TAG>, and--commit <SHA>for in-place binary updates across Linux, macOS, and Windows. - Desktop Auto-Updater Manifest (
latest.json): Release workflow now enablescreateUpdaterArtifactswhen signing keys are configured and publisheslatest.jsonacross macOS, Linux (.deb), and Windows (NSIS).
