Multiple Gun Sounds

Overview

The Multiple Gun Sounds feature allows content pack creators to configure multiple firing sounds for a weapon. Sounds can be selected randomly or played when specific conditions are met, such as having a suppressor attached.

Configuration

Add the Sound feature to your weapon's JSON configuration.

Example

{
  "type": "Sound",
  "fireSounds": [
    {
      "sound": "example_gun_suppressed",
      "volume": 0.8,
      "condition": {
        "allOf": [
          {
            "hasAttachmentGroup": "ar_suppressors"
          }
        ]
      }
    },
    {
      "sound": "example_gun_fire",
      "volume": 0.8,
      "condition": "random"
    },
    {
      "sound": "example_gun_fire_2",
      "volume": 0.8,
      "condition": "random"
    },
    {
      "sound": "example_gun_fire_3",
      "volume": 0.8,
      "condition": "random"
    }
  ]
}

Configuration Options

Property Description
type Specifies the feature type. Must be Sound.
fireSounds Defines the firing sounds available to the weapon.
sound Specifies the sound event identifier.
volume Sets the sound volume.
condition Determines when a sound can be selected or played.

Sound Conditions

Random Sounds

Set "condition": "random" to allow a sound to be randomly selected when firing.

You can add multiple sounds to create variation in a weapon's firing audio.

Attachment Conditions

Conditions can check whether the weapon has an attachment from a specific group.

For example:

"condition": {
  "allOf": [
    {
      "hasAttachmentGroup": "ar_suppressors"
    }
  ]
}

This condition checks whether the weapon has an attachment belonging to the ar_suppressors group, allowing you to configure a different firing sound when a suppressor is attached.
