Installation
pip install parityrun
Python 3.10 or newer. pipx install parityrun or uv tool install parityrun install it as a command of its own,
outside any project's environment.
One line installs everything. On Windows (PowerShell):
powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -c "irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/arttujan/parityrun/main/install.ps1 | iex"
On macOS and Linux:
curl -LsSf https://raw.githubusercontent.com/arttujan/parityrun/main/install.sh | sh
The installer gets uv when it isn't there, and uv installs parityrun as a command of
its own, with a Python of its own. If a terminal that was already open doesn't find parityrun, open a new one.
parityrun --version
To update: pip install -U parityrun, or run the installer again (it installs the latest release), or
uv tool upgrade parityrun.
parityrun starts your app and its ports as they start themselves, so it needs what they need:
| For | Needed |
|---|---|
| a PHP app or library |
php on PATH |
| line coverage of PHP code | the PCOV extension (or Xdebug); optional, see Getting Started |
| a Node.js app, or a JavaScript port | node |
| a TypeScript port | node 23.6 or newer (it runs TypeScript as it is) |
| a Rust app or port | cargo |
| a Python app | the app runs with the Python parityrun runs with: pip install parityrun into the app's own environment |
parityrun port |
Claude Code logged in, or your own AI tool's command line |
| MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL | the database server, see Databases |
