Zuno v0.5.9
What's new in 0.5.9
Added
- The response body shows line numbers, indent guides and brackets coloured by depth; the request body editor shows the same line numbers and bracket colours.
- An empty collection offers Save and Import buttons instead of a line of text.
- Image responses (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, SVG, BMP, TIFF) show as the picture, with a toggle to the bytes.
- Timestamps, hex colours and JWTs in a JSON response are marked, and hovering one shows the date, the colour's values or the decoded token.
Changed
- Zuno ships its own fonts, IBM Plex Sans and JetBrains Mono, so it looks the same on every platform.
Install or update
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/aryanjha256/zuno/main/scripts/install.sh | shThe same command does both: it installs Zuno if you do not have it and
updates it if you do. On Debian and Ubuntu it installs the .deb and asks
for sudo only to run apt-get install. Everywhere else (Fedora, openSUSE,
Arch) it unpacks the tarball into ~/.local, with no sudo at all.
On a Mac with Apple Silicon it installs Zuno.app into /Applications. Use
the command rather than downloading the macOS archive in a browser: the app
is not notarized yet, and macOS blocks a notarization-less app a browser
downloaded, while one installed this way opens normally.
On Windows, in PowerShell:
irm https://raw.githubusercontent.com/aryanjha256/zuno/main/scripts/install.ps1 | iexIt installs for your user only, with no admin rights, and adds Zuno to the
Start menu, the desktop, your PATH and Settings > Apps, where Uninstall removes
all of it. Running it again updates Zuno.
Or install the .deb by hand
sudo apt install ./zuno_*_amd64.debUse apt install ./file.deb rather than dpkg -i, so the runtime
dependencies are resolved for you.
Or unpack the tarball by hand
tar -xzf zuno-*-x86_64-linux.tar.gz --strip-components=1 -C ~/.localIt needs libxkbcommon, libxkbcommon-x11 and libxcb, which every
desktop already has, plus a Vulkan driver.
Or run the AppImage: one file, nothing installed
chmod +x Zuno-*-x86_64.AppImage && ./Zuno-*-x86_64.AppImageIt needs FUSE, which desktop systems have; where it is missing, run it with
--appimage-extract-and-run. It uses the same system libraries as the tarball.
Requires x86-64 Linux with glibc 2.35+: Ubuntu 22.04+, Debian 12+,
Fedora 36+, or anything as recent; or an Apple Silicon Mac on macOS 11+,
or 64-bit Windows 10 or 11.
Zuno renders through Vulkan. On a machine with no GPU driver present,
install mesa-vulkan-drivers as well.
Zuno v0.5.8
What's new in 0.5.8
Added
- A performance monitor (palette or app menu): CPU, memory, FPS and frame time, background work and startup.
- A keyboard shortcuts sheet with search, opened with Ctrl+/.
Changed
- Ctrl+P treats spaces as separating words, matched in any order.

Zuno v0.5.7
What's new in 0.5.7
Added
- Toasts for errors and finished background work; errors stay until dismissed.
- Ctrl+P finds requests by URL as well as name.
Fixed
- Latin-1, Windows-1252 and UTF-16 responses show as text, not a hex dump.
- JSON starting with a byte-order mark parses.
- macOS and Windows system proxy settings are used.
- Ctrl+P stays fast with large collections.
- Ctrl+W asks before closing an unsaved curl-import or restored tab.
