πŸ€– Tidybo

A tiny robot that tidies your Mac desktop.

Select some files, click the robot above the Dock, and watch a little robot vacuum

slide out of the camera notch, drive over each file and suck it into a folder.

macOS 14+
Apple Silicon & Intel
License: PolyForm Noncommercial
Version 0.1

Warning

Tidybo really moves your files. Selected desktop items are moved into a new Tidybo Folder N on your desktop. Nothing is ever deleted or overwritten. Changed your mind? Just drag the files back out of the folder.

πŸ“¦ Install

  1. Download Tidybo-0.1.zip below and double-click it to unzip.
  2. Drag Tidybo.app into your Applications folder.
  3. Open it. macOS will say it can't verify the developer, because Tidybo isn't notarized by Apple. To allow it once, open System Settings β†’ Privacy & Security, scroll down, click Open Anyway next to Tidybo, and confirm.
  4. Allow Accessibility access so Tidybo can see where your desktop icons are. Open System Settings β†’ Privacy & Security β†’ Accessibility, turn on Tidybo, then open Tidybo again.

Tip

Tidybo appears in the Dock like any app. A thin capsule also shows up just above the Dock. Hover over it to meet the robot.

🧹 How to use

  1. Select files on your desktop.
  2. Hover over the capsule above the Dock. The robot says "N files selected, click me to tidy up".
  3. Click it and enjoy the show.
