v1.2.1 - Append Mode (Preserve Your Annotations)

Choose a tag to compare

@avalidurl avalidurl released this 09 Jan 22:38

🔥 Important: Append Mode

Sync now appends new messages instead of deleting and recreating notes!

What This Means

  • ✅ Your highlights are preserved
  • ✅ Your annotations are preserved
  • ✅ Your backlinks are preserved
  • ✅ Your comments are preserved

How It Works

When a conversation continues:

  1. Sync counts existing messages in your note
  2. Only NEW messages are appended
  3. Existing content is never deleted

Full Changelog

  • 🔥 Append mode: New messages appended, existing content preserved
  • 📝 Documentation: Added "How Sync Works" section to README
  • 🐛 Fix: Stable filenames using file creation time (birthtime)

Full Changelog: 1.2.0...1.2.1

Fixes for ObsidianReviewBot Required Changes

This release addresses all required issues flagged by the Obsidian plugin review bot:

UI/UX

  • Use sentence case for UI text ("Sync AI sessions" not "Sync AI Sessions")
  • Use new Setting().setHeading() instead of HTML heading elements
  • Proper button text casing

Code Quality

  • Removed any types - replaced with proper interfaces (ContentItem, Record<string, unknown>)
  • Fixed Promise returned where void expected (wrapped async callbacks with void)
  • Added comments to empty catch blocks explaining why they're intentionally empty
  • Fixed unnecessary escape characters in regex patterns
  • Removed unused imports (TFile, escapeYaml)

Bug Fixes (from 1.0.1)

  • Sessions now properly update when source file is modified
  • Continuing conversations get synced properly

Bug Fix

  • Fixed: Sessions now properly update when source file is modified
    • Previously, if you continued chatting in a session, new messages wouldn't sync
    • Now compares modification times and re-syncs when source has new content
    • Session A stays one long note that grows as you continue chatting
