Releases and Upgrading EN
No optional features are enabled by default. Features are independent and additive; Cargo unifies features across dependencies in a build.
| Feature | Since | Effect |
|---|---|---|
blocking |
1.3.0 | Expose synchronous adapters using a shared Tokio runtime |
send-policy |
1.1.0 | Expose explicit flight and queue limits; a socket setter activates them |
recovery-policy |
1.2.0 | Expose deadline/probe/progress settings; defaults disable probes; compilation includes the documented timing correction |
rust-raknet = { version = "1.4.0", features = ["blocking", "send-policy", "recovery-policy"] }Transport core and public API behavior are unchanged from 1.3.0. This release adds a complete feature CI matrix, formatting checks, broader proxy/example checks, async/blocking benchmark drivers, resumable cross-protocol measurement and refreshed English/Chinese benchmark documentation. The 73.1 µs plain-send sparse RTT is a retest result, not a transport optimization.
Adds optional blocking calls, shared runtime ownership and deadline methods. Async users do not need to enable it or change code.
Adds optional recovery scheduling and eligible tail-datagram probes. Enable recovery-policy and apply settings per connection; see recovery semantics and historical measurements.
Update the dependency requirement and compatible lockfile in an isolated source copy. Retain chosen features and explicit settings; features alone do not apply a send preset. Test against your peer versions, MTUs, channels and payload formats, then compare throughput, sparse/loaded latency and RSS with the same workload. Rust 1.85 remains the declared MSRV; edition 2024 is used.
There is no wire-format migration for 1.4.0. Recovery settings and blocking are local choices and are not negotiated on the wire. Library versions, RakNet protocol versions (10/11) and application/game versions are different numbers.
