Bandito 0.1.20

Features

  • A finished push shows what the agent wrote, and an empty turn sends none
  • A chat read on one device is read on all of them
  • Compact Mac account window, clean sheets and roles on the iPhone

Fixes

  • iPhone chat keeps the composer at the bottom, adds reactions, replies and offline history
  • The Mac sees a new release at once (checks on activation and wake, every 10 minutes)

Other

  • Inbox titles stay whole at large text sizes

Bandito 0.1.17

New

  • Your iPhone reaches your server from anywhere. “Through Bandito's cloud” works with a server in another country and a phone on mobile data — nothing to open or configure, end-to-end encrypted (Noise IK): the cloud only passes bytes it cannot read.
  • Connect an iPhone in one step. Profile → Devices → Connect iPhone turns everything on and shows a QR code. Tailscale offers to help instead of showing an error.
  • Servers follow your account. Sign in on the iPhone with the same account and approve it on the Mac: servers appear and connect by themselves, and a server added on the phone shows up on the Mac. Each device gets its own key, sealed to it; a device removed from the account loses access on every server.
  • A real desktop on the server screen. Bandito wallpaper and a dock (Browser, Terminal, Files, clock); the browser loads sites again; a moon button puts the screen to sleep.

Server

  • Relay client with a Noise responder, relay.enable/disable/status, devices.issue, phone.info; per-device Noise keys.
  • The release no longer waits for the appcast checks it cannot read: banditohq/platform merges its appcast PR after its own CI.

Bandito 0.1.16

@github-actions github-actions released this 13 Oct 07:47

Bandito 0.1.16

New

  • Bandito for iPhone (beta). Turn on “iPhone app (beta)” in Settings: the server's settings show a QR code, and the iPhone app (closed TestFlight) connects to your crew directly.

Faster

  • A quicker Market. Switching categories no longer redraws the pages you are not looking at: two to three times less work per switch.
  • A calmer chat. When an agent finishes a reply, only the reply changes; the header and the input field stay as they are.

Under the hood

  • Time-dependent tests no longer fail on a slow CI runner; the release waits up to 45 minutes for the appcast checks.

Bandito 0.1.15

New

  • A new first run. Seven short steps from a raccoon made of light to your first task: the reply already streams in a live chat.
  • Hire a ready crew. Web project, Server on duty, Morning summary or Docs: see the agents, rights and schedules, then hire them in one click.
  • What's new after an update. A short page shows what changed, in any of the nine languages; Help → What's New opens it again.

Fixed

  • No double agents. If creating a crew fails halfway, trying again makes only the missing agents — in the ready-team sheet and in the market too.
  • Asked at the right moment. Notifications are offered when an agent first needs you, and the statistics question waits until your first reply is in.

Server

  • Groundwork for the upcoming iPhone app (off by default): a TLS listener with a pinned certificate, one-time pairing codes and per-device tokens.

Bandito 0.1.14

@github-actions github-actions released this 12 Oct 16:31
6486e59

Bandito 0.1.14 — the server's screen works, a report button, ready-made teams, and a smoother first run.

Fixes

  • The server screen opens: the app now reads the display number the daemon sends (it showed "Something went wrong" once a screen really started).
  • The app checks for updates every 30 minutes while it is open, not once a day.
  • macOS no longer asks for local network access because of how the app read the Mac's name.

New

  • Help → Report a problem…: versions and recent logs are gathered, tokens, keys, passwords, addresses and names are removed, you read and edit the whole report, then open it as a GitHub issue or copy it.
  • Ready teams on the team home: Web project, Server on duty (stays quiet when all is well), Morning summary and Docs. A preview shows the agents, rights, model and schedules first; schedules start off until you turn them on.
  • IPv6 addresses for SSH servers, with or without brackets, with a port.

First run

  • The notifications prompt comes after the introduction, not on the first screen.
  • A wrong server address shows as a failed connection, with a hint about the user@host form.
  • New agent: if Claude Code, Codex or Grok is missing, an Install button sets it up.
  • Fixes in the subscriptions step, the tour's shortcuts and the sidebar card without a server.

Speed

  • Files opens again without rebuilding its toolbar; Bots and Skills in the Marketplace open at once; the server page in Settings and the server's charts open faster.

Bandito 0.1.13

@sysrootix sysrootix released this 12 Oct 12:34
59488a5

Bandito 0.1.13 — Intel Macs, unread counts, and schedules that stay quiet when there is nothing to say.

Intel

  • Bandito now runs on Intel Macs as well as Apple Silicon: one universal app, with the daemon inside built for both.

Unread

  • Each agent in the sidebar shows how many replies you have not seen; pinned agents get a dot.
  • The Dock icon shows the total across your servers (Settings → Notifications to turn it off).
  • A reply counts as read once its chat is open and scrolled to the newest message.

Schedules

  • A scheduled run is one quiet line in the chat — "Scheduled run · name · time" — instead of a bubble with the whole prompt; a click shows the prompt.
  • When a scheduled run finds nothing worth telling you, the agent ends it quietly: "Nothing new", no message, no notification, no Telegram. A click shows what it did.
  • Only scheduled runs can be quiet: a question you ask always gets an answer, and approvals, forms and sign-in requests always show.

Bandito 0.1.12

Choose a tag to compare

@sysrootix sysrootix released this 12 Oct 09:13
99bcf0a

Bandito 0.1.12 — servers that update in one click, smoother motion everywhere, fixes from the first days of 0.1.11.

Updates

  • A server's new version shows in the banner above your profile, with "Update server" right there; the server menu has "Update server" too.
  • The app's own update still comes first, one banner at a time; the cross hides a server's banner until its next version.

Motion

  • The agent's panel slides out as smoothly as it slides in.
  • The quick open palette, the panel's tabs, Settings sections and Marketplace pages change with a short fade instead of a jump.
  • Every animation follows the system's Reduce Motion and the app's own motion setting.

Fixes

  • The top band of the window and the edge next to the agent's panel no longer show an orange tint.
  • The server screen starts on Windows (WSL): Bandito now sees the display that WSLg's read-only X11 folder hid.
  • A page that sends no picture in the built-in browser shows a still of the page instead of "The browser sent no picture".
  • ⌘W closes the active tab of the agent's panel (and the panel with its last tab).
  • The sidebar no longer redraws for every word of a streamed reply; opening the agent's panel resizes the chat once.

Speed, kept

  • New checks run on every change and fail when the chat, typing, a streamed reply, an agent switch, the Marketplace or the agent's panel start doing more work than they need.

Bandito 0.1.11

Choose a tag to compare

@sysrootix sysrootix released this 12 Oct 05:52
248ec3f

Bandito 0.1.11 — a much faster app, agents that build their team, every workspace in reach.

Speed

  • The chat is drawn natively: scrolling holds 120 fps on a 120 Hz Mac, and a streamed reply redraws one line, not the chat.
  • Typing redraws only the field; switching agents builds only the first screen, and going back to one of the last four shows it at once.
  • No more second-long freezes on agent switches, mode changes or the Marketplace; sheets, settings and "New agent" open far quicker.
  • Help → ⌥ Smoothness check… runs every page on demo data and shows how smooth your Mac draws them.

Agents

  • The main agent can create agents for you, give them a schedule and a task; you approve each one on a card.
  • Agents offer reply buttons when they wait for you ("Done", options), and say right away when they can't do something.
  • Move an agent to another server: settings, memory and chat history go with it; keys and sign-ins stay behind.
  • Approval modes are named by what they ask: about everything, only risky actions, or nothing.

Workspaces

  • Screen, Browser, Terminals and Files let you choose the workspace; a terminal opens inside a container.
  • Each agent shows the workspace it works in.

Servers

  • Settings → Servers: name, icon and colour, the primary server, connection, agent defaults, screen sleep, the number of agents running at once, backups and nightly self-update.
  • A server's self-update restarts cleanly and no longer reports a false failure.
  • Start screen names the programs the server is missing and installs them.

Marketplace

  • A storefront: a shelf per category, "See all" for the whole category, Connected on top. Bots and Skills look the same.

Chat and window

  • Hover a message to see when it was sent, to the second.
  • Choose where chat links open: the built-in browser or yours; ⌘-click opens the other.
  • Double-click the top band of the window to zoom it (no full-screen Space); double-click again to restore.
  • The last browser tab can be closed; a new tab opens a start page instead of a spinner.
  • Agents on the Server screens show their own avatars.
