Why Omarchy Feels Like the Future - Especially for Gamers

Hello Everyone,

I honestly never thought I’d completely switch to Linux but last weekend, that changed. After years of dual-booting between Windows and Ubuntu, I finally took the leap and moved fully to Omarchy. And wow… it’s been such a refreshing experience.

From the moment it booted, I knew this distro was something different. The Hyprland configuration makes everything look and feel gorgeous fluid animations, clean design, and a balance between minimalism and functionality that’s just perfect. It’s not only fast, it’s beautifully built.

I haven’t tried gaming on Omarchy yet, but I’m planning to test it soon and share how it goes. From what I’ve seen in the community, gaming already works quite well though a few users have mentioned some minor bugs here and there. Still, if the focus continues on enhancing gaming performance and compatibility, could easily become a major win for gamers. Combine that with its current productivity and development strengths.

A big thank you to the @dhh for creating such a beautiful distro. The attention to detail, the design, and the overall experience really show how much care has gone into this project. If we keep pushing it forward, especially on the gaming side as well, I genuinely believe Omarchy could lead the way for the next generation of Linux users

Im glad this is working for you. I have had pc freezes, reboots have frozen, bad experience with gaming - its laggy and not getting the FPS i used to get on windows. Scaling issues in apps like steam and others when they are in tiles.

Otherwise i dig it, i cant imagine the effort that goes into such a thing and its impressive. Im looking forward to the updates to come and hopefully with an effort from the community we can make this something special.

I feel like everyone is wanting an alternative to windows and I know this isnt being marketed as it but it feels promising and boy would I like to stick it to windows!
