v0.2.0
A central full-screen view, removing addons, and sorted addon suggestions.
What's new
-
Central full-screen view (Quick Access menu → Open WoW Addons), laid out like Steam's settings:
- Installed: update, check, or remove addons for each WoW version.
- Get addons: search and suggestions.
- WoW versions, Undo, WowUp-CF and Notes (warnings and diagnostics).
The Quick Access menu keeps an overview, Update all (now for every WoW version at once) and the plugin update.
-
Remove addons: deletes their folders and WowUp records like WowUp does.
- Required dependencies that no other addon needs can be removed along with an addon.
- Folders another addon still uses are kept.
- Folders WowUp does not manage can be removed too.
- A snapshot is taken first, and Undo puts removed addons back.
-
Sort addon suggestions and search results by best match, popular, most downloads, most favorites
(WoWInterface), recently updated or name. Results show favorites and the date of the last update. -
WowUp's own
wowup_data_addonfolder is no longer listed as "not managed".
Update
Offered inside the plugin (Quick Access menu → Maintenance), or run install.sh again:
curl -sL https://github.com/bassobr/decky-wowup/raw/main/install.sh -o /tmp/wow-addons-install.sh && sudo bash /tmp/wow-addons-install.shIntegrity
SHA256SUMS is signed with minisign (key 5FB2410E9B9A14EB, minisign.pub); install.sh and the in-app updater verify it:
minisign -Vm SHA256SUMS -p minisign.pub
Unofficial – not affiliated with WowUp, CurseForge/Overwolf or Blizzard Entertainment.
v0.1.1
Fixes a case where WowUp-CF installed addons into a folder the game no longer uses.
What's new
- WowUp installations whose folder is gone or holds only
Interface/AddOns(e.g. a deleted Proton prefix
of an old Battle.net shortcut) are marked and never updated: WowUp would otherwise recreate the folder
and install addons there, where the game never loads them. - Move to the installed game (Quick Access menu and "WoW versions"): points such an installation at the
detected WoW folder, keeps its addon list, copies the addon folders and replaces an empty entry for the
same folder. The old folder is left untouched. CLI:relocate <installation id> <folder>. - Leftover AddOns folders are no longer detected as WoW versions.
Update
Offered inside the plugin (Maintenance → Check for plugin update), or run install.sh again:
curl -sL https://github.com/bassobr/decky-wowup/raw/main/install.sh -o /tmp/wow-addons-install.sh && sudo bash /tmp/wow-addons-install.shIntegrity
SHA256SUMS is signed with minisign (key 5FB2410E9B9A14EB, minisign.pub); install.sh and the in-app updater verify it:
minisign -Vm SHA256SUMS -p minisign.pub
Unofficial – not affiliated with WowUp, CurseForge/Overwolf or Blizzard Entertainment.
v0.1.0
First release of WoW Addons, a Decky plugin that updates World of Warcraft addons from Game Mode by driving WowUp-CF headlessly.
What's in it
- Headless WowUp-CF runs from Game Mode (
gamescope --backend headless): update all, check only,
update a single addon; flags and notification setting restored after each run (journal). - Detects every WoW version in Battle.net Proton prefixes (
product.db,.build.info) and lets
WowUp import the missing ones. - Installs, adopts and updates the WowUp-CF AppImage with checksum verification and a canary run.
- Hardlink snapshots before each update with "Undo last update".
- TOC compatibility check against the installed game version.
- Signed releases,
install.sh, in-app plugin updates via Decky Loader. - Full-screen "Get addons" page: search WoWInterface and WowUp Hub (popular/featured without a query),
install from CurseForge by project ID, open WowUp-CF's own window for CurseForge search; installs run
through WowUp-CF, required CurseForge dependencies are added automatically. - Progress bar no longer pushed to the right (raw ProgressBar instead of ProgressBarWithInfo).
- WoW versions from every route: Steam/Proton (incl. NonSteamLaunchers), Bottles, Lutris, Heroic, Wine,
CrossOver, search folders, SD cards/USB drives and folders picked by hand; added to WowUp directly in
WowUp's own format (no duplicates with WowUp's own import). New full-screen page "WoW versions".
Install
With Decky Loader installed, open Konsole in Desktop Mode:
curl -sL https://github.com/bassobr/decky-wowup/raw/main/install.sh -o /tmp/wow-addons-install.sh && sudo bash /tmp/wow-addons-install.shThen open the Quick Access menu → Decky → WoW Addons. Later versions are offered inside the plugin.
