Astra Browser 1.0 (Build 111)
Astra Browser 1.0 · Build 111
Apple Silicon macOS installer. The app and DMG are signed with Developer ID; Apple notarization was accepted and the ticket is stapled.
Changes
- Improve automatic proxy selection: prefer a healthy system proxy, validate a local proxy over HTTPS, and use direct access when the local proxy is unhealthy.
- Add search engine choices, including Baidu.
- Improve X route visibility and the browser's network behavior.
- Add an Astra-themed Finder background and clear drag-to-Applications layout to the DMG.
Installation
Download Astra-Browser-build111.dmg, open it, and drag Astra Browser.app to Applications. The SHA-256 checksum is in SHA256SUMS.txt.
Update feed
The existing signed Sparkle feed remains at Build 106 because the Build 111 update-signing private key is not available on this release Mac. Build 111 is available by manual download. The bundled appcast.xml intentionally retains the last valid signed feed so existing update checks remain valid; it does not offer Build 111 as an automatic update.
Astra Browser 1.0 (Build 106)
Astra Browser 1.0 (Build 106)
- Restore the asynchronous quit event handler after AppKit finishes launching.
- Fix application Quit and Command-Q when the Settings window is open.
- Keep Quit enabled when browser access is temporarily unavailable.
- Preserve the native CEF event loop used for saved-login acceptance, address entry, and tab switching.
The Apple Silicon DMG is signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
Astra Browser 1.0 (Build 105)
Astra Browser 1.0 (Build 105)
- Run CEF's native macOS event loop as the single owner of browser and AppKit event dispatch.
- Preserve Chromium saved-login suggestion acceptance while keeping address entry and tab switching responsive.
- Route system quit events through CEF's asynchronous browser shutdown lifecycle.
- Keep the application-menu Quit command enabled and route it through the same orderly shutdown path.
- Retain Chromium's native password store and its existing authentication checks.
The Apple Silicon DMG is signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
Astra Browser 1.0 (Build 104)
Restore responsive browser input on macOS
- Keep CEF's external message pump enabled with CefSwift's AppKit run-loop driver. This restores address-bar input and tab switching.
- Preserve the saved-login selection fix verified on the Fudan eHall sign-in page.
The app is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
Astra Browser 1.0 (Build 103)
Fix saved-login filling
- Fix Chromium's saved-password popup so selecting a saved login fills the page when background timers are pending. Selection was verified on the Fudan eHall sign-in page.
- Preserve Chromium's built-in saved-password store separately from Astra's Touch ID Keychain credentials.
The app is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
Astra Browser 1.0 (Build 102)
Build 102 improves password form handling in Astra Browser.
- Activate the Chromium Views window when its native child window becomes key, so saved-password suggestions can receive selection input.
- Match visible account fields next to password fields on more login forms, including forms without standard autocomplete attributes.
- Verify that Touch ID filling remains in the form and show an error when no site-specific Touch ID login is saved.
- Retry intermittent Apple timestamp service failures while signing release components.
The application is signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Password suggestions from Chromium and Touch ID credentials use separate stores. The saved-password interaction on Fudan sign-in pages needs a final check in the installed Build 102 app.
Astra Browser 1.0 (Build 101)
Build 101 adds indexed ZenMux page actions.
- Uses a configurable ZenMux policy model for choosing visible controls during clicks, text-entry targeting, selection, and scrolling.
- Keeps field-value generation on the selected default chat model while excluding passwords, verification codes, payment data, and other secrets.
- Adds current field values and ARIA state to indexed page context and prevents repeated unchanged actions.
- Includes settings for replacing the built-in typesafe/jev-1.13 policy model.
The Apple Silicon DMG is signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple, stapled, and verified by Gatekeeper.
Astra Browser 1.0 (Build 100)
Build 100 improves ZenMux model capability handling.
- Recognizes Gemini-family model IDs, including Gemini 3.8 Flash, as multimodal image-capable models.
- Validates newly configured ZenMux models against the provider catalog.
- Enables image, PDF, and reasoning controls according to the selected model’s declared capabilities.
- Makes the release smoke test bounded and reliable before notarization.

Astra Browser 1.0 (Build 99)
Restores Translate Selection, Look Up Word, and Add to Vocabulary Book in the native context menus of WebKit compatibility pages, including BBC. WebKit opens menus from an internal view, so Astra now augments the actual tracked menu for the focused web view. Chromium selection menus and the Build 98 ZenMux HTTP 400 fix are preserved.
Verified with five focused XCTest tests and native WebKit UI checks for word lookup, full-sentence translation, and vocabulary actions on editable selections. The regression test fails against the previous implementation.
Apple Silicon; macOS 14 or later. Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple. Download the DMG and drag Astra Browser into Applications, then restart the app.
This release is a manual download. The attached appcast.xml remains the unchanged, signed Build 97 feed so existing update checks remain valid. Automatic delivery of the current release requires the original Sparkle signing key, which is on the other release Mac.
Astra Browser 1.0 (Build 98)
Fixes ZenMux HTTP 400 errors in immersive translation and vocabulary lookup. Requests without tools now omit tool configuration, while normal AI chat retains automatic tool selection. Also fixes a CEF patch context mismatch that blocked fresh builds.
- Apple Silicon; macOS 14 or later.
- Signed with Developer ID and notarized by Apple.
- Validated with a Release build, actual Chromium launch smoke test, strict nested code-signature checks, and two isolated request-encoding regression tests. The old encoder fails the translation test; the fixed encoder passes both tests.
Download the DMG below and drag Astra Browser into Applications.
Build 98 is currently a manual download. The attached appcast.xml is the unchanged, signed Build 97 feed so existing update checks remain valid. Automatic delivery of Build 98 will be enabled when the original Sparkle signing key is available again.
