Added
ess generate synthesize --target rust represents Json as the generated types crate's
dependency-free json::Value (#224). It covers newtypes, struct members (also in a
list, a map or an Optional), union variants, entity fields, command inputs and responses, event
and error payloads, view rows and binding mappings. The types crate carries the json module only
when the model uses Json, and the server crate re-exports it. The wire codecs carry an object,
array, number, string, boolean or null unchanged: members keep their order and numbers keep their
spelling. --target go, web and clap still refuse Json and name the target. A model without Json synthesizes the same bytes as before.
Changed
The public documentation is reorganized for somebody adopting ESS. Start here pages cover
install (macOS and Linux), a first specification, a first conformance run, one page per runner
(TypeScript, Go, Rust) and use with an agent, and every command they show is run by crates/edge/ess-cli/tests/tutorial_page.rs. The two long guides are split into task pages, with
the old pages kept as indexes so old links and anchors still land. The CLI reference's command
sections are generated from the command definition (cargo xtask cli-reference), a new
diagnostics page lists every code and refusal name with its repair (cargo xtask diagnostics), a
what-changed page is generated from changes/, and cargo xtask docs now fails for any format
family a page names that is not tracked, and for a README that installs an older release.
