• worktree gc --apply removes a tree holding a directory without the owner
  write bit instead of leaving it half-removed (#16).
• gc finishes a removal Git interrupted, after fresh remote recovery proof
  and proof that every remaining file is the recorded commit's content.
• No wire-protocol, schema or surface-version change.
