0.4.2 - Release Notes

Summary

Collaboration Framework v1.3.1 — a project-management readability release that
splits the long project-management spec into focused docs/pm/ files while
keeping docs/PROJECT-MANAGEMENT.md as the required wayfinder.

Project Management Wayfinder

docs/PROJECT-MANAGEMENT.md is now a short entry point instead of an 800-line
operational monolith.

The wayfinder preserves the existing discipline:

• Start there before planning or closing a project, arc, or slice.
• Use its required load set to choose the detailed files needed for the job.
• Keep the written mechanics authoritative instead of improvising from the
  methodology summary.
• Use minimum-context shortcuts only for narrow operations.

This keeps the required entry point stable for humans and LLM sessions while
reducing the amount of context needed for common project-management tasks.

Split Project-Management Files

The former monolith was split along its original part boundaries into
docs/pm/:

• 01-scales-of-work.md
• 02-canonical-planning-worktree.md
• 03-planning-top-down.md
• 04-closing-slices.md
• 05-closing-arcs.md
• 06-confirmation-protocol.md
• 07-anti-patterns.md
• 08-maintenance.md
• 09-worked-example-odm.md
• version-history.md

The split files keep the original substance but add navigational cross-links
where the old monolith referred to "Part I", "Part IV", and similar local
sections.

• 09-worked-example-odm.md was refreshed so the example teaches the general
  project-management flow rather than documenting the odm tool itself.

Framework Document Updates

The release updates the collaboration-framework entry point and related docs so
all project-management routes agree on the new shape:

• SKILL.md bumped to 1.3.1 and now routes planning work through the
  PROJECT-MANAGEMENT.md wayfinder and its docs/pm/ required load set.
• docs/PROJECT-MANAGEMENT.md bumped to 2.3 and now acts as the
  project-management wayfinder.
• docs/pm/version-history.md records PROJECT-MANAGEMENT.md v2.3 and the
  monolith split.
• docs/AI-ENGINEERING-METHODOLOGY.md bumped to 1.7 and now points to the
  wayfinder rather than describing PROJECT-MANAGEMENT.md as a single detailed
  document.
• README.md now describes PROJECT-MANAGEMENT.md as a wayfinder split under
  docs/pm/.
• Makefile now packages the split docs/pm/ files into
  collaboration-framework.zip.
