- updater: request Windows installers from the real release tag: Root cause of the ASUS never updating. Its own desktop-updater.log, recovered by the diagnose script, shows every attempt: installerUrl: https://github.com/binary16labs/prime-silo/releases/download/v1.24/Prime-Silo-1.24-windows-x64.exe That URL is a 404. The release tag is v1.24.0 (all 94 tags in this repo are three-part); only ASSET names drop the trailing ".0". The Windows arch fallback, used whenever the feed lacked the x64 installer (every release until v1.24.4), built the tag with the asset-name normaliser, a convention inherited from upstream's two-part tags. So every x64 update to an X.Y.0 release was requested from a tag that does not exist, and because the failure was only logged to console the app just never updated. The fallback now uses updateInfo.tag, the tag electron-updater actually found the feed under, and resolveDesktopDebugReleaseTag keeps the full version for the debug-reinstall path too. Tests pin v1.24.0 -> the real 200 URL; the upstream two-part expectations are updated. Reverting the resolver fails the new assertions. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 noreply@anthropic.com
