  • Optional Android APK building from the desktop tool.

Platforms

Package Minimum OS Status
Linux x86-64 Ubuntu 24.04 or glibc 2.39+ Tested development target
Windows x86-64 Windows 10/11 Experimental gameplay support
macOS Apple Silicon macOS 15+ Experimental gameplay support

A compatible Vulkan 1.3 GPU and driver are required. All three platforms passed build and portable startup checks; Windows/macOS gameplay validation remains pending.

Using a portable package

  1. Extract the entire package into a writable folder.
  2. Open sf2recomp.cmd on Windows, SF2Recomp.command on macOS, or sf2recomp on Linux.
  3. Enter your NSP path, prod.keys path, and output folder.
  4. Wait for conversion, then launch sf2.exe or sf2 from the output folder.

Supported input: a combined base + v1.1.0 / update v131072 NSP containing its CNMT XML sidecars and tickets. Separate base/update NSPs, NSZ, and other game versions are not supported. Already-extracted updated files work with --game.

The portable tool bundles Python, input helpers, and a compiler. No game code, assets, or keys are included.

Android: select Android in the desktop tool to build a private APK. First use downloads several GB of Java, SDK/NDK, and build dependencies into extensions/android inside the tool folder. Android Studio is not required. See Android setup.

For LAN, use the same SF2Recomp version and matching roster settings on both devices. See the LAN guide.
