Warning while indexing Linux

Hi,

I'm currently indexing the whole Linux kernel (all versions) and I've had some warnings like this one :
While processing /tmp/tmp.BurCdQUdHm: Use of uninitialized value $source_lines[0] in pattern match (m//) at /.../elixir/find-file-doc-comments.pl line 134.
It's always the same script and line.

I doesn't seems to crash the indexing process but maybe some things will be missing or incorrect in the database ?
I haven't investigated more as my computer is still indexing.

@cxw42 I think you are the one working the most on the perl scripts here. Any ideas of what it could be ?

Thanks for reporting! Do you happen to know any of the file(s) that cause the warning? That would help me repro locally.

I didn't get much time to look into that but indexing only 4 tags (v3.0, v4.0, v5.0 and v6.0) to speed up the process gives the following result :

• 3 message for v3.0
• 1 message for v4.0
• Nothing for v5.0 and v6.0

Also indexing v6.0 alone doesn't give any message.

This means the problem comes from older versions of the kernel and concerns files that I since been removed, so I guess v3.0 is a good start to track down the problem.
I will try to identify the concerned files when I get some time.

I identified the files concerned in Linux v3.0 :

• arch/powerpc/boot/zImage.coff.lds.S
• arch/powerpc/boot/zImage.lds.S
• arch/powerpc/boot/zImage.ps3.lds.S

I can repro using the v3.0 file: v3.0.S. It's an error in how I'm looking backwards for a doc comment before a function --- I try to check line 0, which doesn't exist. I'll work on it when I have the chance! Thanks again for the filenames and version --- that made it very easy to repro 👍

Edit It doesn't happen in the latest because there's a #endif just before the first function, and I stop the search there.
