Haul 1.13.0 — Product creation and catalog usability

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 15 Oct 23:37

Product creation and editing

  • Create products directly inside a category without opening Settings, and keep adding products with the same category and focus.
  • Add several products at once, one name per line, with duplicate detection and individual results.
  • Create a category while adding a product and return to the pending form with the new category selected.
  • Add products while shopping, edit names, categories, quantities and notes, and choose whether edits also update this list's catalog.
  • Search without case or accent sensitivity, clearly identify products already on the list, and hide catalog products with undo while retaining purchases and history.
  • Share accessible product forms across mobile and desktop web layouts, preserve navigation context, and add Catalan, Spanish and English copy.

Persistence and synchronization

  • Persist catalog and visibility operations per server and list, preserve stable identities, retry transient failures and report local, pending, synchronized and error states.
  • Add optional free-text quantities throughout synchronization, backups, public lists, Android widgets and Wear OS.
  • Apply additive backend fields and migrate Android Room databases from version 4 to 5 without replacing existing data. Older clients can omit quantities without clearing them.

Installation and upgrade

  • Android phone: Haul-v1.13.0.apk.
  • Wear OS: Haul-wear-v1.13.0.apk.
  • Server and web: ghcr.io/borborborja/haul:1.13.0.

Update the backend before installing the new clients. The backend applies migration 1800000014_item_quantity_catalog_source on startup; verify /api/shoplist/health reports supports_quantity: true. Clients disable quantity input on older servers and retain unsupported quantity writes locally until the server is upgraded or the quantity is removed.

Validation

  • 147 web tests, ESLint, TypeScript and production build passed.
  • Production browser checks covered contextual and consecutive creation, nested categories, bulk creation, shopping mode, responsive layouts and reload persistence.
  • 34 Android unit tests passed; phone, Wear OS and instrumentation APKs compiled.
  • 11 backend Go tests passed.
  • The published Docker image passed an isolated startup smoke check: backend health, quantity capability, web assets and version 1.13.0.

Seven Android instrumentation tests were compiled but could not run because the local emulator did not finish booting without hardware acceleration. Physical Android and Wear OS device testing was not performed.

Haul 1.12.3 — Sync reliability and data safety fixes

Choose a tag to compare

@borborborja borborborja released this 15 Oct 06:02

Fixes

  • Preserve offline edits and deletions through reconnection, concurrent updates and list changes, preventing lost changes and deleted items reappearing.
  • Isolate cached list data, pending writes and authentication between lists and servers.
  • Fix shared-list connections, guest/account handling, automatic cleanup and nested modal navigation.
  • Repair catalog and list backup/import/reset handling, including translations, custom items and hidden items.
  • Improve Android synchronization, widgets, Wear OS actions and update asset selection.
  • Prevent unauthorized changes to list relations and correct public-item editing and attribution.
  • Fix Bring synchronization loops and stale deletion/completion states.
  • Correct the Catalan strawberry label and update affected dependencies.

Installation

  • Android phone: Haul-v1.12.3.apk.
  • Wear OS: Haul-wear-v1.12.3.apk.
  • Server and web: ghcr.io/borborborja/haul:1.12.3.

The Android database upgrade from version 3 to 4 adds persistent pending deletions. Backend migrations tighten list relation permissions and correct the default strawberry translation without replacing custom labels. Back up application data before upgrading a self-hosted server.

Validation

  • 105 web tests, TypeScript checks, lint and production build.
  • 22 Android unit tests and signed release builds for phone and Wear OS.
  • Backend Go tests and vet; 9 Bring connector tests and build.
  • Web and Bring dependency audits reported no known vulnerabilities.

Physical Android/Wear OS device testing was not performed. Admin imports still use multiple HTTP requests and can be partially applied if connectivity is interrupted.
