The DSH host's fetch wrapper requests gzip without decoding the body and
does not follow redirects, so the jsdelivr feed failed as invalid JSON and
the unpkg mirror failed with HTTP 302 on its @latest path.

Ask for accept-encoding: identity, decode a body that still arrives
compressed (gzip magic, or declared br/deflate), and follow up to five
redirects by hand without downgrading https or carrying the ETag across
origins.
