Stars, shared with Picasa
The viewer has a ★ button, and starred photos carry a badge in the grid. A star you set in photon is written into the folder's .picasa.ini (the same file Picasa reads), so the two programs agree in both directions. photon changes only that photo's star= line and leaves the rest of the file — Picasa's face tags, crops and edits — exactly as it was; a folder with only an old Picasa.ini has that file edited in place.
This narrows photon's promise. Until now photon never wrote inside a watched folder. From this version: photon never writes, moves or deletes photo files; the one file it writes is Picasa's own INI, and only to set or clear a star. If Picasa has the file open at that moment the write fails with a message and nothing changes.
