photon v0.8.2
A bug-fix release, fixing two problems 0.8.1 shipped with. No new features, no schema change.
Unsigned installers. See the README for the security warnings each OS shows, and how to get past them.
Upgrading
Nothing to do. 0.8.2 reads and writes the same library as 0.8.0 and 0.8.1 (schema version 3), so you can move between them freely.
Fixes
The viewer and the grid selection stay on the photo you chose. A grid offset only identifies a photo against one version of the library index, and indexing a photo into a folder that sorts earlier shifts every later one. Until now the open viewer would go on showing the next photo under the same caption, and the selection box in the grid would slide one along — both silently, while you were looking at them. Copying a photo into an earlier folder while browsing was enough to trigger it. Both now re-find their photo by identity after the index is rebuilt, and a photo that really has left the current view says so instead of quietly resolving to its neighbour.
The status bar no longer claims live updates are fine when they are not. photon restarts the filesystem watcher every five minutes when it has failed. A folder that could not be re-registered during one of those restarts was recorded as relying on periodic rescans, but never said so — the notice only appeared if some unrelated scan happened to finish afterwards. The warning is now raised wherever the failure occurs.
