Breaking Changes

  • The supported Host moves from official Desktop 0.2.0-rc.1 to 0.2.0-rc.2; Host peer versions remain exact, with no compatibility override.

  • dsh_delegate now requires the current Codex task's absolute cwd. The MCP process directory and DSH_DEFAULT_WORKSPACE_CWD no longer substitute for it.

  • Delegation reuses or registers the corresponding Desktop Workspace and creates the Session through its workspaceId. Registration failure does not fall back to an ungrouped Session.

  • Upgrade the Desktop plugin and MCP server together. Bridge discovery now requires version 0.2.0; mixed 0.1.0 and 0.2.0 installations are rejected.

Added

  • Optional reasoningEffort, validated against the Host model catalog before Workspace or Session creation.
  • Effort-only requests use the Host current default model; explicit model overrides remain supported.
  • Chinese-first and English READMEs, localized architecture diagrams, and a technical reference.
  • Version consistency checks for packed artifacts and the MCP handshake.

Compatibility

  • Official DeepSeek Harness Desktop 0.2.0-rc.2 only. Version 0.1.0 targeted the older 0.2.0-rc.1 Host.
  • Explicit model or effort selection uses the official selectModel API, which may save the Host default selection in the background.
  • Codex approval guidance is scoped to the manually tested CLI 0.155.1; other versions require their own approval-policy checks.

Verification

  • Build, TypeScript checks, and all 33 tests pass, including packed-artifact smoke tests.
  • Desktop 0.2.0-rc.2 live acceptance through the packed stdio MCP server covers Workspace creation/reuse, GLM 5.3/max, effort-only default selection, event cursors, bounded waiting, and cancellation with retained history. See the technical reference.

Assets

  • dsh-codex-bridge-dsh-plugin-0.2.0.tgz: install through Desktop Plugins with an absolute tarball path.
  • dsh-codex-bridge-mcp-server-0.2.0.tgz: unpack and run package/lib/bin.js with Node.js.
  • SHA256SUMS: integrity checks for both packages.

Update the plugin and MCP server together. Model provider IDs are deployment-specific; use the exact Desktop model catalog route.

v0.1.0
ec750fb

dsh-codex-bridge lets Codex delegate work to the model and Session runtime already configured in an official DeepSeek Harness Desktop. A Desktop Host plugin serves authenticated loopback JSON; a separate stdio MCP process exposes five tools.

Artifacts

File Purpose
dsh-codex-bridge-dsh-plugin-0.1.0.tgz Install through the Desktop Plugins → Add plugin page using its absolute path. First install applies via HMR; no restart.
dsh-codex-bridge-mcp-server-0.1.0.tgz Unpack to a stable directory and point Codex at lib/bin.js.

Requirements

  • Official deepseek-ai/deepseek-harness Desktop 0.2.0-rc.1 (commit 4878cda). Peer dependencies are pinned exactly; other versions are unsupported.
  • Node ^22.19.0 || >=24.0.0 for the MCP process, which Codex launches.
  • A model already configured in Desktop. Omit model in dsh_delegate to inherit the Host current selection — no provider key is needed on the Codex side.

Configure Codex

[mcp_servers.dsh]
command = "/absolute/path/to/node"
args = ["/stable/path/@dsh-codex-bridge/mcp-server/lib/bin.js"]
enabled = true
startup_timeout_sec = 30.0
default_tools_approval_mode = "approve"

[mcp_servers.dsh.env]
DSH_HOME = "/absolute/path/to/the-Desktop-dsh-home"

default_tools_approval_mode = "approve" is required for non-interactive runs: under the default policy codex exec fails with MCP tool call requires approval, but approval policy is never, and "auto" is not sufficient for these tools. In interactive Codex, keep it for silent delegation or drop the key to be prompted on every call.

Tools

dsh_delegate, dsh_status, dsh_follow, dsh_wait, dsh_cancel. dsh_wait is capped at 120 seconds and never cancels work.

What it does not do

It never starts Harness, calls a provider API directly, edits persisted Sessions, mutates the reserved Desktop profile, or exposes a remote transport.

Verification

  • 26 tests, packed-artifact smoke, strict build and lint pass at this tag.
  • Verified end to end on macOS against Desktop 0.2.0-rc.1: a real Codex process delegated through MCP and received a completed ordinary Session whose delegated work landed as expected.

Known limitations

  • Bridge cursors are plugin-process state; a plugin reload invalidates old cursors.
  • completed, idle, cancelled, and error are bridge projections, not native DSH Session enums; raw Host state is returned alongside them.
  • Replacing an installed package may require a Desktop restart.
  • Delegated work runs under the DSH Host's own permission policy, not under the Codex sandbox.
