Telegram Drive v4.1.2
Desktop video streaming metadata
- Correct the overly restrictive MP4 streaming-eligibility check introduced in 4.1.1. Valid trailing-metadata layouts accepted by Telegram Desktop now receive the matching streaming flag for local and URL Media uploads.
- Preserve the original video bytes, JPEG previews, dimensions, duration and filename captions. File mode, protected uploads, resumable transfers, cancellation, account isolation and quota checks retain their existing paths.
- Existing sessions, vaults, settings and lifetime supporter activations remain compatible. The optional $5.00 USD one-time lifetime ad-free license and recovery rights are unchanged.
Desktop media controls and dropdowns
- Give labeled playback actions room to fit and group skip, speed, volume and library actions with consistent spacing. Controls and keyboard hints wrap cleanly in smaller windows.
- Keep video and audio viewers inside the available viewport, with scrollable bookmarks/queue details and accessible Close/Fullscreen controls. Quality badges remain anchored to the video.
- Match speed, sleep timer, slideshow interval, settings, sync and workspace dropdown styling while preserving native selection, keyboard behavior and touch targets.
Dependency security
- Update Rustls to 0.23.46, addressing the upstream TLS advisories detected by the release dependency gate.
Verification
- The existing large-container upload journey failed at the streaming-flag assertion before the correction. All 215 native journeys and all 133 browser journeys passed locally, including captions, sync settings, slideshow, visual, accessibility and TV keyboard navigation checks; full release suites and platform package checks remain publication gates.
- Automated Telegram boundaries use controlled fixtures. Streaming and seeking with the reporter's actual video over 200 MB on a clean Windows Telegram Desktop receiver remain pending owner acceptance after this release.
