minRender v0.5.11
- Nodes on a VPN now get work — a node that reaches the share over WireGuard or Tailscale advertised its tunnel address, so the office nodes could not reach it. minRender now advertises the address it actually uses to reach the share.
- Peer addresses no longer go stale — Windows kept serving other nodes the first version of a peer's address file it had opened, for an hour or more, after the file changed on the share. Nodes now write that file once per farm start, and only re-read a peer's file when the share listing shows it changed.
- IP override applies on Save — changing the advertised IP in Settings restarts the farm services like the other network settings do.
- Dead peers are dropped — a node whose address file has gone from the share is removed from the peer list instead of being polled forever.
Action needed — every node should move to 0.5.11; nodes still on 0.5.10 keep rewriting their address file every 3 seconds, which is what trips the caching on the other Windows nodes. Windows nodes restart on their own after the Store update.
minRender v0.5.10
- Windows nodes come back after Store updates. A Microsoft Store update closes minRender to install the new version. From 0.5.10 on, Windows starts it again straight after the update, minimized to the tray, so the node rejoins the farm by itself. It also restarts minRender if it crashes.
- Safer Store packaging. The Windows package build now refuses to produce a package with capabilities the Store has rejected before.
- macOS. No changes beyond the version number. The plug-ins are now 0.5.10; they only differ from 0.5.9 in their version.
- RNDR companion (
tools/rndr-companion, installed separately on RNDR nodes). It now also stops RNDR when a creative app opens while minRender is not running. A new optional keepalive (install.ps1 -KeepAlive) starts minRender again whenever it is not running.
Action needed: Windows nodes: the update to 0.5.10 still closes minRender without restarting it, because 0.5.9 could not ask for a restart. Start minRender once on each node after it updates (or install the companion with -KeepAlive). Later updates restart it on their own.

minRender v0.5.9
- Plug-ins on the farm share stay current. Only a node running a newer minRender refreshes the farm's templates and plug-ins, so an older node can no longer copy its older files back over them. A copy that fails is retried on the next start, and every copy is recorded in the node's log on the farm.
- Correct plug-ins in the macOS app. 0.5.8 for macOS shipped with an earlier build of the Blender, After Effects and Cinema 4D plug-ins. They worked, but showed the wrong version. The plug-ins are now 0.5.9 everywhere.
- Windows title bar. Windows uses the standard Windows title bar and frame again, always dark. This fixes white borders and wrong or invisible minimize, maximize and close buttons on Windows 10 and on PCs set to light mode.
Action needed: reinstall the plug-ins from the farm share's plugins folder (version 0.5.9) on workstations that submit jobs. Nodes still on 0.5.5 can overwrite that folder with older plug-ins when they restart, until they are updated.

minRender v0.5.8
Updated for Windows Store submission requirements.
minRender v0.5.7
Updated for Windows Store submission requirements.
minRender v0.5.6
What's new in 0.5.6
- Security hardening of the node API: job and node ids are validated before they touch the farm share, farm cleanup can only delete inside the farm's own folders, oversized requests are rejected, and the macOS agent socket moved to the per-user temp directory.
- Job list fix: the State column and per-chunk states, blank since the Qt port, show again.
- Windows moves to the Microsoft Store. Windows is distributed and updated through the Store from this release; the direct installer and its update feed are retired. macOS continues to update in place.
- RNDR dual mode removed from the app on Windows in favor of an optional companion script (
tools/rndr-companion). Action needed on Windows nodes that used dual mode: install the companion before upgrading.

minRender v0.5.5
- added visibility and warnings of node suspension in the UI and a communication layer to accommodate the new info
MinRender v0.5.3
- API hardening— the /api/config endpoints now require the farm token (the old exemption let any LAN host read and rewrite farm settings), auth fails closed when the farm secret can't be read, token comparison is constant-time, and log/output routes reject path-traversal segments.
- Peer endpoint hardening — UDP heartbeats can no longer create peers or change a peer's address; endpoint.json on the farm share is the sole authority, so a spoofed packet can't redirect leader traffic (and the farm secret) to an attacker-chosen host.
- Secret fingerprint — Settings and /api/status now show a short fingerprint of the farm secret, so nodes that disagree about the secret are easy to spot instead of producing a wall of 401s.
- Windows binaries — every shipped executable now embeds full version metadata, reducing Windows Defender false positives on unsigned builds.
MinRender v0.5.2
- Upgraded the default Blender render templates for 5.2
minRender v0.5.1
- fixed bugs around priority and edit job systems
