TMNT v1.0.5
TMNT 1.0.5: Android TV and Google TV, and 32-bit Android. As before, nothing of the game comes in these packages:
keep your own tmnt.zip (MAME's ROM set, World 4 Players) beside the game, and it takes its assets out of it the
first time it starts. The devices' games (Switch, Android, Anbernic) are made again with the tools in the package.
New
- 32-bit Android (armeabi-v7a): the APKs that TMNT APK makes have the game for both kinds of Android, 64-bit and
32-bit, and Android installs the one its device runs. A 32-bit Android did not install them before: the Chromecast
with Google TV (its Android is 32-bit on a 64-bit chip), TV boxes and older phones. The 18 scenarios give the same
game as the board's, frame by frame, on 32-bit ARM too. - In the TV's apps (Android TV, Google TV): the games show up there, with a banner, the four turtles' faces from
the same friend's mural as the icon. A 16:9 picture of your own takes its place: drop it on TMNT APK's window
(banner.jpgbeside the tool, or--banneron a command line). - The TV's remote, in TMNT: the pad moves, OK attacks (and brings in a player who is not playing, or continues),
back jumps (and goes back in the menus), home pauses. A game controller comes first, as a player, and is better.
In TMNT Arcade, as before, back puts a coin in.
Not yet tried on a Chromecast or an Android TV: installing, the banner, the remote and the speed are to be seen
there.
README.txt in the package says what each tool needs. What a tool makes is yours alone: never share it.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a trademark of its owner, and the arcade game is Konami's; this project is not
affiliated with or endorsed by either, nor by Nintendo, Google or Anbernic.
TMNT v1.0.4
TMNT 1.0.4: a Fold opened mid-game, and the icon. As before, nothing of the game comes in these packages: keep your
own tmnt.zip (MAME's ROM set, World 4 Players) beside the game, and it takes its assets out of it the first time it
starts. The devices' games (Switch, Android, Anbernic) are made again with the tools in the package.
Fixed
- A Fold opened or closed mid-game (Android): the picture kept the shape it was chosen for at the start, and on
the open screen it took half of it. WIDE now follows the screen as it changes: 20:9 on the closed Fold, 16:9 on
the open one, the picture at the top and the touch controls under it (a tablet's screen, its short side 4 inches
or more, does the same). The touch controls take the new screen's density too. Not in a MULTIPLAYER game, where
WIDE is the host's on every device. Not yet tried on a Fold.
Changed
- The icon is Raphael's face from a friend's mural, on every platform: the computers' executables and .apps,
the Android launcher (what TMNT APK makes without a picture of yours) and the Switch's HOME menu. A picture of
your own still takes its place: drop it on TMNT APK's or TMNT NSP's window.

TMNT v1.0.3
TMNT 1.0.3: game controllers' mappings, and a log of what the game sees of them. As before, nothing of the game
comes in these packages: keep your own tmnt.zip (MAME's ROM set, World 4 Players) beside the game, and it takes
its assets out of it the first time it starts. The devices' games (Switch, Android, Anbernic) are made again with
the tools in the package.
Fixed
- Game controllers SDL did not know (a player's Nvidia Shield: a PS4 controller that did not move the menus'
cursor, and in a game neither it nor an Xbox controller moved the turtle): the community's mappings,
SDL_GameControllerDB, are built into both games on the
computers and Android. Not yet tried on a Shield.
New
- The controllers in the log: what the game finds of each controller (its name, GUID, and whether and how it is
mapped), and the first keys and buttons pressed. If a controller still misbehaves, the log tells why: on Android
it isAndroid/data/io.github.cheviman.tmnt/files/tmnt.log(tmnt-arcade.logfor TMNT Arcade); on Linux and
macOS it goes to the terminal the game was started from.

TMNT v1.0.2
TMNT 1.0.2: VSYNC, a continue's turtle change, and the touch controls' size on big screens. As before, nothing of the game comes in these packages: keep your own tmnt.zip (MAME's ROM
set, World 4 Players) beside the game, and it takes its assets out of it the first time it starts. The devices'
games (Switch, Android, Anbernic) are made again with the tools in the package.
New
- VSYNC (OPTIONS > VIDEO, on by default, kept in
tmnt.ini): each frame is shown at the screen's refresh, with
no tearing. The game keeps its own pace, the board's 59.19 frames a second: a faster screen (120 Hz, 144 Hz)
shows a frame more than once, and a frame that comes late is left out rather than holding the game or its sound.
On a computer; the Switch, Android and the Anbernic keep their system's own refresh. TMNT Arcade is as it was. - A continue's turtle change (TMNT): a player with no lives left who comes back with START chooses his turtle
again, on a line over the game ("1P < MICHELANGELO >"): left and right go among the turtles no one plays, attack
or START brings him in on it, his continues with him; jump leaves it. The game goes on meanwhile, so it works in
MULTIPLAYER too. Not in RONIN, BOSS RUSH, nor with everyone the same turtle.
Fixed
- The touch controls on big screens (an open Fold, a tablet): they were a tenth of the screen's height, huge
there. Now they take the screen's smaller side (its height, or its width over 1.8) and never more than about
9 mm a unit (ATTACK some 18 mm across); on a screen taller than the picture by a fifth or more, the picture goes
to the top and the controls into the room under it, off the picture. Phones as they were.

TMNT v1.0.1
TMNT 1.0.1: WIDE 16:10 for the Steam Deck, the whole screen on Android, game controllers before a TV's remote, and
the players' boxes in the middle of WIDE. As before, nothing of the game comes in these packages: keep your own
tmnt.zip (MAME's ROM set, World 4 Players) beside the game, and it takes its assets out of it the first time it
starts. The devices' games (Switch, Android, Anbernic) are made again with the tools in the package.
New
- WIDE 16:10 (a player's request, for the Steam Deck): OPTIONS > VIDEO > WIDE has 16:10 between OFF and 16:9,
32 columns more at each side, the window's picture 358 x 224. On Android a tablet's screen (16:10, down to 3:2)
takes it by itself.
Fixed
- Full screen on Android: TMNT Arcade opened as a window, so Android's bars stayed over the game, and on
Android 15, which draws an app under them, the score at the top was cut (a player's OnePlus 12). Both games now
take the whole screen, the bars hidden until a swipe from the edge brings them back. TMNT Arcade keeps the
cabinet's 4:3 picture, black at its sides; TMNT's WIDE fills the phone. - A game controller on Android TV (a Shield with an Xbox controller): the TV's remote, which Android reports as
a game controller and comes first, took player 1, and the controller played player 2. A game controller now
comes before a remote, whatever their order. - The players' boxes in WIDE (16:9 and 20:9): at an area's start the picture's sides are all at the right (so
that nothing before the area's map shows), and the boxes at the top moved with the board's 320 columns, back to
the middle as the scroll went on. They stay in the middle now.
Changed
- The menu's LAN is MULTIPLAYER: the same game of up to four computers on the local network.
- The repository's README is the port's alone, short: playing it, the console version, the controls, LAN,
building it. How the port is made is indocs/port.md, and the decompilation in tmntarcade-decomp's README.

TMNT v1.0.0
The first release of the TMNT port: Konami's 1989 arcade game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a native game,
built on its decompilation (tmntarcade-decomp) and checked frame
by frame against MAME. Nothing of the game comes in these packages: keep your own tmnt.zip (MAME's ROM set, World
4 Players) beside the game, and it takes its assets out of it the first time it starts.
The packages (Windows, Linux, macOS for Apple silicon and Intel) hold both games and the tools that make the
devices' games with your ROM set:
- TMNT: the console version. No coins: START brings a player in at any time, up to four. ARCADE, SPLINTER WAY
(NORMAL with 5 lives and 3 continues, BOSS RUSH, RONIN), LAN, OPTIONS (CONTROLS for four players, DIFFICULTY,
LIVES, DEMO SOUND, REGION, VIDEO with PIXELS, WIDE 16:9 or 20:9 and FPS, VOLUME, SOUND TEST), the pause
(CONTINUE, RESTART, QUIT GAME). And a certain code on the menu. - TMNT Arcade: the arcade game as it is: coins, the test mode, four players.
- TMNT NSP (Nintendo Switch: TMNT.nsp and TMNT Arcade.nsp, with your console's keys), TMNT APK (Android:
TMNT.apk and TMNT Arcade.apk, with a key of yours; touch controls or game controllers) and TMNT Anbernic (the
H700 handhelds' PORTS).
LAN: up to four computers on the same local network play one game, a turtle each: one hosts a room, the others
join it, the host's START begins it on all of them with the host's settings. A computer that stops being heard
leaves after 3 seconds, and the game goes on. It is built on
arcade-lan.
Not tried yet: a real Switch, an Anbernic handheld, a Mac, and the LAN between two computers (it was played
with two games on one). Reports are welcome as issues.
