What's new in 1.0.7
Declared compatibility is now checked. The plugin's minimum WordPress and PHP versions are stated in four places — the plugin header, readme.txt, README.md and the lint configuration — and nothing kept them equal. The value that decides whether your site may install or update comes from the plugin header; the value a merchant reads comes from readme.txt. A drift between them is invisible and consequential, so a mismatch now fails the build.
The floors are declared in the plugin header. WordPress reads Requires at least and Requires PHP from the header to decide whether a site may install or update at all. Previously only readme.txt carried them, which WordPress does not read for that check — so an unsupported site was never stopped, and the requirement shown on the plugin page came from the other file.
The build checks the release metadata. Every screenshot the readme names must actually ship (a declared screenshot with no image makes the plugin page serve a 404), the readme must describe only the release being installed, and the version number must agree in every file that carries it.
The compatibility lint is a real gate again. It ran with its result discarded, so it could never fail a build and any finding it made was invisible.
