Meeting Notes 2023 Q3

Agenda

Licensing

  • Originally GPL to avoid enabling competing products
  • No objections to changing as long as someone leads the effort (which would be significant to get concurrence from contributors and delineate a full release under the new license)

Latest release

  • 1.12 updates how configurations are loaded to align with experimental repo
  • Continuing to look at better options to create configurations going forward (still a manual process)
  • Python changes - Because of EFI shell, we've been on Python 3.6. With Python 3.12, Python will deprecate the setup tools build. Changes are already made and will force users to use Python 3.7 or newer when running under Windows/Linux. You will also need setuptools version > 62.0.0 (pip install --upgrade setuptools). This change is included in Release 1.12.1
