Release 2.3.1 [30-Oct-2026, re-released 02-Nov-2026]

cim-compare 2.3.1 was re-released on 02-Nov-2026 with five further changes to the report: one set of rules for notes, ⓘ pop-ups and the hover / inline setting, images of unchanged diagrams with --full, a clearer ⓘ change dot, and two fixes to how notes are shown. If you downloaded 2.3.1 before 02-Nov-2026, download it again. Visit the README or public site for full details.

Enhancement Issue #199:
One set of rules for notes, ⓘ pop-ups and the hover / inline setting. Notes are headed as in Enterprise Architect ("Class notes", "Attribute notes", "Package notes"), and every ⓘ pop-up lists the notes, then the metadata, then the tagged values. In hover mode the page shows the changes and the ⓘ holds the rest; a blue ⓘ with a dot marks a change only its pop-up shows. In inline mode everything is on the page: each attribute's details open with the arrow before its name or show details, and Expand all opens them all. A printout reads as inline mode. Added and deleted classes are laid out like changed ones, and the side that does not exist is hatched everywhere. With --full, every ⓘ lists all of the item's properties.

Enhancement Issue #204:
With --full --include-diagrams, an unchanged diagram shows its image: one image, centred in a full-width panel, since the baseline and destination are the same picture. With EA project files, EA draws these images from the destination model, so a --full run with diagrams takes longer than before. Without --full, nothing changes.

Enhancement Issue #196:
The dot on a ⓘ that marks a change only its pop-up shows sat just outside the ⓘ's ring and could read as a separate speck. It now overlaps the ring.

Defect Issue #198:
Characters EA stores as codes in notes, such as &gt; and &amp;, were shown as the codes, for example (&gt;= 0). They are now shown as the characters. Formatting tags such as <i> are still shown as written.

Defect Issue #200:
Line breaks in notes and role notes were removed, so separate lines and lists ran together. They are now kept in the comparison and shown in the report.

Defect Issue #188:
With an EA compare log (option 3) as input, the report started one level below the compared package: its sub-packages were shown, but classes and diagrams directly in the compared package were not, nor were changes to the package itself, such as a changed baseuri tagged value. The header named a sub-package rather than the compared package. The report now starts at the compared package, as EA's log does. Reports from EA project files and XMI files (options 1 and 2) are unchanged.
