FSR + Frame Gen 2.0 Beta 6 — Windows
Beta — FSR + Frame Gen 2.0 Beta 6 for Windows.
- Update notices no longer call an older Release Candidate a new update after you change channels. You can still switch channels yourself in the Plugin Updater.
- Includes the verified setup and update fixes from the current Beta, with saved settings and local models kept.
- FSR, NR and frame generation work the same as Beta 5. This is a reliability update, not a new rendering method or a promised FPS increase.
Close X-Plane, run the Setup.exe and choose your X-Plane folder. Then start X-Plane normally and open the controls from Plugins. The desktop app only updates plugins.
Updating from FSR 0.7.x: the old updater can't see v2 because of the rename. Run the new Setup.exe once; your settings are kept.
Windows automated checks and the new install/update/uninstall package checks passed. This update does not claim a new flight-performance test. Community checks for other GPUs, display layouts and long flights remain welcome. Optional preview features retain their Beta 5 limits.
The existing Linux FSR 3.1 and Mac native preview remains current and separate. It does not include native NR or frame generation.

FSR + Frame Gen 2.0 Beta 5 — unified Windows Beta
Windows Beta — one complete update for community testing. New preview options start Off. Your saved choices are kept.
- Updates inside X-Plane: a brief notice and Update indicator follow your selected Release Candidates or Betas channel. Checks run separately from rendering. Close X-Plane before installing.
- Separate instrument windows: the main FG view can present alongside normal instrument windows. Their redraws do not increase the main FPS count. Mixed batches use an extra wait and may lower FPS. FG for several independent 3D views and extracting 2D panels from the main scene are still unfinished.
- Memory: spare caches follow available video memory and 6/8/10/12/16/24/32 GB capacity tiers. Quality choices stay. This cannot prevent every out-of-memory error or make every mode work on every GPU.
- All current previews in this package: image-motion matching, NR result reuse, adaptive shading, short stutter stand-in frames (FG Off), shader caching and pass-time measurement. Each has help and can be turned Off. Compare trails, flicker, detail and pacing; results vary.
- Setup and support: one app can serve several X-Plane folders. Includes current camera/motion fixes and OBS compatibility status. The old cockpit-screen restore/alignment workaround is retired. Normal cockpit motion and NR choices remain.
Automated Windows build, settings/UI/updater, GPU presentation/mixed-window/resource/motion and installer lifecycle checks passed. No owner-PC flight or physical multi-monitor compatibility is claimed for this update; those checks go to Beta testers. Memory tiers were simulated, not tested on seven physical cards. FSR 4 and NR need supported hardware; model weights and NVIDIA DLLs are not included.
Linux/Mac preview development is now on the same Beta branch. New native packages await native build validation; existing Linux FSR 3.1 / Mac Metal preview stays available with its existing limits. This Windows package adds no Linux/Mac NR or FG.
Updating from FSR 0.7.x: the old updater cannot see v2 because of the rename. Run the new Setup.exe once; your settings are kept. For a clean reinstall, use the old uninstaller, keep saved choices/models, then run the new installer in the same app folder.
Full Beta 3 notes. Release Candidates remain on 0.7.10. Private source provenance: 50844aad9448d86371cf2658e2adbfa93578d691. Download hashes are in SHA256SUMS.txt.

Native platform preview 4 — Linux FSR 3.1 and Mac Metal preview (experimental Beta)
Experimental Beta — this is a native platform preview, not the complete Windows mod. Windows users should use FSR 2.0 Beta 5.
- Linux: FSR 3.1 upscaling preview. Optional FSR 4 uses a compatible library you supply yourself; none is included. The launcher lists your X-Plane folders. MSAA must be Off. Frame generation and NR are not available in this native package.
- Mac: double-click Install-on-Mac.command, choose an X-Plane folder, then start X-Plane normally. In Plugins > FSR Mac preview, choose Off, Frame survey or experimental scene-only edge smoothing.
- Development MetalFX option: on supported Macs with macOS 13+, the menu also offers spatial upscaling. Lower X-Plane's Rendering Resolution below Full first. If the scene cannot be separated safely, it keeps X-Plane's normal picture. No Mac frame generation is included.
- Please share a Frame survey log: Output/preferences/XPFSRMetalPreview.jsonl. Review it before sharing. Surveys help check real Mac frame layouts.
- Mac binaries include Apple Silicon and Intel slices with basic signatures. They are not notarized. If blocked, approve this specific plugin in Privacy & Security; never disable Gatekeeper.
Native builds, automated rendering/lifecycle checks, package contents and hashes passed. This is not a real Linux or Mac X-Plane flight test. Mac Intel execution and broad GPU compatibility remain unverified. Settings and unrelated files are preserved by the tested installers.
Download the archive for your platform, extract all files and read INSTALLATION-AND-USE.txt. Existing downloads and Windows update channels are unchanged.

FSR 2.0 Beta 3 — Windows
Download hosting update: development source is now private. These are the previously published package files, with unchanged checksums and licenses.
FSR 2.0 Beta 3 — Windows
This Beta brings the current v2 Test features to the Betas channel. It keeps your saved choices and uses the in-sim settings panel; the desktop app only updates plugins.
What's new
- Updated frame-generation synchronization and image retirement, plus the freeze correction and clearer raw/generated/total-output counters.
- Optional native motion from X-Plane, with camera-motion fallback when it is unavailable.
- Optional CPU scheduling controls, texture-detail choices and Anti-Lag 2 on supported hardware.
- Background FSR preparation, clearer startup/per-frame diagnostics, hover help, keyboard/joystick commands and corrected panel alignment.
- Existing FSR upscaling/native AA, NR model import, frame-pacing profiles and saved settings are retained. GPU/driver support determines which rendering providers can run.
Experimental choices, including native motion and two-GPU processing, remain for testing. This release does not add AFMF 3 integration or an ADLX component.
Install
- Close X-Plane and the Plugin Updater.
- Download XPlane-FSR3-4-FrameGen-2.0.0-beta.windows.3-Setup.exe, run it, and select your X-Plane folder. Keep the same mod application folder when updating.
- Start X-Plane normally. Open Plugins > FSR 3.1 / 4.1 + Frame Gen > Open settings. Check the status after loading a flight.
The RAR contains the same setup program. Choose Betas in the Plugin Updater for future Beta updates. Use Full input for native AA; use a lower input scale for upscaling. Start with frame generation Off. When testing the mod's FG, turn driver AFMF and other frame generators Off first. Close the mod panel to resume frame generation.
Updating from FSR 0.7.x: the old updater can't see v2 because of the rename. Run the new Setup.exe once; your settings are kept.
Testing limits
Built from Beta source eb6e534f21e430736ac53695a8d0133ef2bbe194. Fresh Windows C#5/build, CPU/settings/updater/native-UI regression, isolated candidate loader, frame-generation and native-motion fixtures, and installer update/uninstall/reinstall checks passed. Test-source live findings on one Windows test PC informed this Beta; they are not a new exact-Beta flight certification.
The remaining owner-PC checklist covers startup warm/cold timing, the VSync pacing row and measured latency. Longer flights, night-city shimmer, traffic and two-GPU comparisons are still being evaluated. Zink performance remains under investigation. Do not expect every stutter or artifact to be eliminated. Driver-generated AFMF output is not counted by the mod's presenter counter.
Windows x64 download. The separate native Linux FSR 3.1 preview remains available and unchanged. This package adds no Linux FSR 4/NR/FG support. macOS rendering remains unavailable.
No NVIDIA model DLLs, model weights, user data or simulator assets are included. Redistributable components retain their notices. NR needs the user's own supported model import.

FSR 3.1 / 4.1 + Frame Gen — 0.7.10 Release
Download hosting update: development source is now private. These are the previously published package files, with unchanged checksums and licenses.
This update reduces repeated graphics-memory setup by skipping image copies the final scene does not need. It also moves status-file work into the background to help keep rendering smooth.
In one matched 4K Native AA flight test, FPS improved from 31.3 to 41.4, with better slow-frame timing. Results vary by computer, scenery and add-ons. This does not remove every source of stutter.
Your current FSR, neural rendering and frame-generation options are retained. Saved settings and locally imported models are kept when updating the same installation. NR and FG still add processing work; FG can still have artifacts.
Install: close X-Plane, download XPlane-FSR3-4-FrameGen-0.7.10-Setup.exe below and run it. Choose your X-Plane folder. Start X-Plane using your usual shortcut, then open Plugins > FSR 3.1 / 4.1 + Frame Gen > Open settings. Use View changelog to read the changes. The desktop program only updates plugins.
The optional RAR contains the same setup. Both packages passed install/update/uninstall, saved-choice/model preservation and channel-switch tests. Original project code is MIT; supplied AMD/NR components retain their own notices. NVIDIA DLLs, model weights, simulator assets and private logs are excluded.
Windows Vulkan update. Linux keeps its separate FSR 3.1 preview; Mac rendering is unavailable. Native AA's separate Windows alpha and Linux beta remain available in its own repository.

FSR 3.1 / 4.1 + Frame Gen — 0.7.10 Beta 1
Download hosting update: development source is now private. These are the previously published package files, with unchanged checksums and licenses.
Beta includes the same tested performance correction as Release 0.7.10. Release is recommended for most users.
- Skip image copies the final scene does not need, reducing repeated graphics-memory setup.
- Move status-file work into the background to help frame pacing.
- Keep current FSR, NR, frame-generation and compatibility options, saved settings and local models.
A matched local 4K Native AA test improved from 31.3 to 41.4 FPS, with better slow-frame timing. Results vary; NR and FG still add processing work, and artifacts remain possible.
Close X-Plane, run XPlane-FSR3-4-FrameGen-0.7.10-beta.windows.1-Setup.exe below, then use your usual simulator shortcut. Settings are inside Plugins > FSR 3.1 / 4.1 + Frame Gen > Open settings. The desktop app only updates plugins. The RAR contains the same setup. Read INSTALLATION-AND-USE.txt.
Windows Vulkan update. Linux keeps its separate FSR 3.1 preview; Mac rendering is unavailable. NVIDIA DLLs, model weights and private user data are excluded. Keep all supplied license notices.

Native platform preview 3: Linux FSR 3.1 (+ your own FSR 4) and Mac Metal preview (experimental)
Experimental Beta preview — this is not a finished Mac or Linux port. Windows users should use FSR 2.0 Beta 3.
Mac: install and try the preview
- Extract the Mac ZIP, close X-Plane, then double-click Install-on-Mac.command. No Python is needed. It lists your X-Plane 12 folders; run it once for each folder you use.
- Start X-Plane as usual with Steam, Finder or any launcher. Open Plugins > FSR Mac preview, then choose Off, Frame survey or Edge smoothing. Edge smoothing only works on the 3D scene; menus and instruments are never changed. You can switch modes while flying. The included guide notes that first enabling the preview after Off can need one restart.
- Please fly with Frame survey and send Output/preferences/XPFSRMetalPreview.jsonl with your report. This log is needed for the next step: Mac upscaling with Apple MetalFX. Review it before sharing.
- The Mac preview does not upscale or add frames yet. It has a basic macOS signature but is not notarized. If macOS blocks it, verify the download hash and approve only this plugin in Privacy & Security. Never turn Gatekeeper off.
Linux: FSR 3.1 upscaling preview
- The Linux package includes FSR 3.1 upscaling. The launcher now offers every X-Plane folder.
- Optional FSR 4 needs a library you build yourself. AMD does not ship FSR 4 for Linux, and no FSR 4 library is included here. Follow the included guide for setup and limits.
Neither package has been tested in real Mac or Linux X-Plane flights yet. Automated builds and package checks passed, but picture quality and flight stability still need feedback. Bug reports are welcome.
Download the package for your system, INSTALLATION-AND-USE.txt and SHA256SUMS.txt below. No DLLs, models or development source are included; the Python launcher and installation scripts are runtime files. GitHub's automatic Source code archives contain public download documentation only.

Native platform preview 1 — Linux FSR 3.1 + Mac diagnostics
Download hosting update: development source is now private. These are the previously published package files, with unchanged checksums and licenses.
Experimental Linux FSR 3.1 preview and Mac compatibility probe. Mac FSR rendering is not implemented.
This is a separate native-platform development release. Windows users should keep using 0.6.1-alpha. It does not replace the Windows application or enter its automatic-update channel.
Linux x64
- Native Vulkan FSR 3.1.5 backend, built from JonathanOrr's MIT xplane-fsr3 implementation and AMD's open SDK source. Pinned dependency commits and licenses are included/documented.
- Shared launcher with saved choices, help, fresh session logs, renderer-confirmed status and clear fallback reasons.
- Set the sim's output resolution to the desired final resolution, enable FSR Supersampling (start at 1.5×), and turn MSAA off. FXAA off is recommended.
- No FSR 4, frame generation, VR, Native AA, Windows cockpit compositor or Windows ground-camera safeguard. Camera-derived motion can still ghost, including clouds, propellers and gauges.
Mac: diagnostics only
- Universal Apple Silicon + Intel diagnostic plugin and launcher. Reports native plugin loading, simulator/SDK version and finite camera matrices.
- No Metal upscaler, FSR injection, frame generation or AA enhancement. A separate Metal scene/depth/presentation integration remains necessary.
- Plugin is ad-hoc signed, not notarized. Python 3.10+ with Tk is required for the launcher. Intel architecture is built but has not been executed by our Apple Silicon test host.

XPlane-FSR-Native-0.6.2-platform-preview.1.rarcontains both native archives, plain instructions, validation notes and hashes. - Read INSTALLATION-AND-USE.txt before installing. The optional probe installs/removes only its owned files while the sim is closed. Saved choices remain outside the install folder. No simulator preferences, controllers or camera ownership are modified. Native automatic updates are not yet provided.
What was verified
Native build/check run: Ubuntu 22.04 and macOS 14 builds, launcher core checks, actual native plugin load/unload against host stubs, Mac architecture/signature checks, archive integrity and install/update/removal with settings preservation. Linux's 48-frame software-Vulkan reconstruction fixture passed with zero validation errors, and the layer passed its glibc/libstdc++ portability gate.
The Linux shader detector also recognized the relevant passes among 6,775 modules in the installed X-Plane 12.4.4-r1 files; deliberately altered layouts were rejected. Simulator shaders/assets are not distributed.
These are build/synthetic checks, not real-flight validation. Actual Linux/Mac simulator, GPU/driver, Steam/Wayland/X11 and long-flight tests remain pending. This preview is not a claimed fix for the previously reported ground/cloud artifacts. See VALIDATION.txt for exact scope/results.
Source: d6d5e4def07a995a25dbff9ec308da679bb43692 on experimental/native-platforms. No Windows provider DLLs, NVIDIA models, simulator assets or Lossless Scaling files are included. NR remains canceled and regular Windows FG remains suspended.
