ChordPlay v2.0.2 — Modern Search, Preserve Style & Queue Refinements
Welcome to ChordPlay v2.0.2! This release brings a modernized search experience inspired by BitChord, custom dynamic theme preservation, multi-weight typography for lyrics, fluid queue history and gesture controls, and refinements across animations, speed dial, and home navigation.
Highlights & What's New in v2.0.2
Modernized Squircle & Pill Search Experience
- Squircle Pill Search Bar: The search bar now features a continuous squircle pill shape nested naturally inside the frosted top bar with circular touch targets and seamless surface continuity.
- Unified "All in One" Segmented Category Capsule (
PillSegmentedControl): Replaced loose, separated chips with a single squircle track. A pill indicator smoothly glides between categories (All,Songs,Videos,Albums,Artists) using fluid spring physics (dampingRatio = 0.8f), accompanied by quintic edge-fade masks and haptic feedback. - Track Durations in Results: Every song row in search results now cleanly displays its track duration (e.g.,
3:53) directly beside the 3-dots actions menu.
"Preserve Style" — Custom Dynamic Color Presets
- Freeze Any Artwork Colorway: Found a dynamic artwork color palette you love? Freeze and save it directly from the Account Profile Selector with the new "Preserve Style" action.
- Custom Saves in Appearance: Saved styles appear under Settings → Appearance → Color palette → Custom Saves (storing up to 5 custom presets). Apply, rename, or delete your saved themes whenever you like.
True Multi-Weight Typography (Poppins & Parkinsans)
- Dedicated Multi-Weight TTF Fonts: Bundled authentic weights for both Poppins and Parkinsans:
- Medium (500)
- SemiBold (600)
- Bold (700)
- ExtraBold / Heavy (800)
- Visibly Distinct Lyrics Hierarchy: Adjusting weights in Settings → Player → Lyrics typography now visibly alters stroke presence and readability across both the live preview and fullscreen lyrics.
Queue History, Multi-Item Swipes & Navigation
- Fix Stuck Pink Delete Boxes: Implemented optimistic pending dismissal and timeline index-drift protection, eliminating stuck pink delete containers when removing multiple tracks quickly.
- YouTube Music-Style Queue History: Swipe up in the player queue to view previously played tracks. Tap any previous track to replay it or rewind the active queue back to that point.
- Inline Queue Gestures:
- Swipe Left to remove a song from the queue.
- Swipe Right to add the track to Play Next.
- Reorder drag handles are neatly aligned on the right edge.
- Auto-Centered Now Playing: Opening the queue always lands on Now Playing, keeping earlier history tucked away until you intentionally scroll up.
⚡ Home Screen & Speed Dial Enhancements
- Matching Typography: The "Speed Dial" header now precisely matches the font size and styling of the "Recents" section.
- Zero-Shift Pagination Fade: Speed dial dots and back arrows smoothly fade away after 2 seconds of inactivity, maintaining fixed padding so the sections below never jump or shift.
- "Sad" Mood Filter Chip: Added a dedicated Sad filter chip to the top mood bar for melancholy and emotional tracks.
- Calmer Dynamic Musical Greetings: Greetings now rotate on a calm 60-second cycle (or immediately on tap) with time-of-day intelligence ("Ears first, questions later", "Back in the mix", "Your soundtrack awaits", "Turn it up").
Motion, Navigation & Dock Polish
- Genie-Style Profile Modal Transition: Account Profile Selector now opens with a smooth top-left origin expansion with a separate soft-fading dark backdrop.
- Snappy Miniplayer Dismissal: Shortened player minimize-to-miniplayer settle time; taps to reopen the player now register instantly without unresponsive lag during dismissal.
- Double-Tap Home to Top: Double-tapping the Home button smoothly scrolls the feed all the way back to the top.
- Filled Active Dock Icons: Navigation dock icons now smoothly morph into filled states when active.
Lossless & Hi-Res Audio Badges
- Integrated audio quality badges for external Addon sources, displaying Hi-Res Lossless (24-bit 96/192kHz), Lossless FLAC, and Dolby Atmos indicators.
