PSA 1.9.3
What's new
- Drag the pill by its speed: press on the speed in the pill and move to drag the pill around, even in its small form. A plain click on the speed still opens the speed menu, and − and + never move the pill.
Updating
Firefox: the extension updates itself.
Bookmarklet: bookmarklets don't update themselves. Open the install page, drag the PSA button to your bookmarks bar, and delete the old bookmark. The new panel shows "PSA 1.9.3".
PSA 1.9.2
What's new
- The pill grows around its speed: when you point at the small pill, PSA and − appear to the left of the speed and the menu arrow and + to the right, so the speed stays right under your mouse instead of jumping aside.

PSA 1.9.1
What's new
- A smaller pill: the pill is now just the blue dot and the speed, as it already was in fullscreen. Point at it (or tab to it) and it grows to the full pill with PSA, −, the speed menu and +. Near the right edge of the window, it moves over to stay on screen while it's grown.

PSA 1.9.0
What's new
- A speed for just this YouTube channel: on a YouTube video, turn on Just this channel (under the speed buttons, or in the pill's speed menu) to keep a speed for that channel only, such as 1× for music. Other channels keep your usual speed for YouTube. Turn it off to forget the channel's speed. During ads, your usual speed applies.
- Firefox: the settings page lists these channels under youtube.com, each with Forget.

PSA 1.8.4

PSA 1.8.3
What's new
- Lighter on your computer: PSA does less work while it runs. On a YouTube page it now uses about 40% less processor time while minimized to the pill, and about 15% less with the full panel open. A background tab where nothing is playing, such as a paused video left open, no longer uses any at all until you come back to it or something plays.

PSA 1.8.2
What's new
- A calmer pill: the blue dot now glows once, not twice, when the pill appears or the speed changes.

PSA 1.8.1
What's new
- Fullscreen with an embedded player: while the mouse is over an embedded player, PSA stays visible, and it fades once the mouse is back on the page and stays still. This replaces a rule based on the size of embedded frames, so it works however the player is built.
- Firefox: only playing with sound pops up the pill. Muted autoplay, which is how ads and background videos play, no longer shows the pill or turns on the keyboard shortcuts. Unmuting something that's playing counts. Your speed still applies to everything.
- Firefox: players in frames from the same site are looked after at once, including ones a page adds later, and the pill now also shows for something that was already playing before PSA found it.
- Firefox: the panel stops naming an embedded player once the page moves on to another address.
- Firefox: the saved-sites list in the settings no longer redraws every few seconds while something plays, so keyboard focus stays put. "Forget saved speeds and places" now says how many sites it forgot.

PSA 1.8.0
What's new
- Firefox: the panel names embedded players. On a page whose only player is embedded from another site, such as a YouTube video in a blog post, the full panel now says "Embedded player from youtube.com" and that its speed follows PSA, instead of "No audio or video found yet". Play and skip in the player itself.
- Firefox: saved sites in the settings. The settings page lists every site with a saved speed or saved places in recordings, with a Forget button for each. "Forget saved speeds and places" still clears them all.
Updating
Firefox: the extension updates itself.
Bookmarklet: nothing changed for the bookmarklet in this release apart from its version number, so there's no need to update it.
PSA 1.7.7
What's new
- PSA answers the mouse in fullscreen in Chrome. Chrome lets the mouse reach only what is inside a fullscreen player, so PSA showed over it but couldn't be hovered, clicked or dragged. PSA now moves inside the fullscreen player while it is fullscreen. Over a bare fullscreen video or an embedded player, which can't hold anything, it still shows but can't be clicked; the keyboard shortcuts work there. YouTube, which makes the whole page fullscreen, wasn't affected.
