Skills

  • React skills target @cometchat/chat-uikit-react@7. A project still on UI Kit v6 gets a version_conflict warning: upgrade with cometchat-react-v7-migration, or stay on the v4 pack.
  • The Android UI Kit v5 and Flutter UI Kit v5 skill families are gone; Android and Flutter are covered for UI Kit v6 only. Upgrade with cometchat-android-v6-migration or cometchat-flutter-v6-migration, or stay on the v4 pack.
  • Skills were renamed and regrouped: 82 v4 skill names are gone, 37 kept their names with rewritten content, and 44 are new.
  • Two -v5- prefixes now mean something else: cometchat-android-v5-sdk and cometchat-android-v5-calls-sdk are the headless Android Chat and Calls SDK skills, and cometchat-flutter-v5-sdk is the Flutter Calls SDK skill. They are not the v4 UI Kit v5 skills.

Installer (npx @cometchat/skills)

  • Family names changed. web, native, base and all are rejected; use react, angular, react-native, ios, android or flutter, or a headless SDK family: js-calls, react-native-calls, ios-calls, android-calls, flutter-calls, android-sdk.
  • --family takes one family per run. In a monorepo, run add once per app; a second run adds to the first instead of replacing it.
  • add no longer opens an agent picker. It installs for Claude Code unless you pass --ide <agent> (or --ide all).
  • The --list flag is now the list command.

Companion CLI (@cometchat/skills-cli 3.0.0)

  • The CLI now only handles credentials and dashboard settings: auth, provision, config and features. The skills write all integration code.
  • These v2 commands were removed, and running one now explains where its job moved: init, apply, apply-feature, apply-theme, add-widget, add-user-mgmt, customize, production-auth, builder, experiences, view, install, uninstall, status, state, info, verify, doctor and detect. For project detection, use npx @cometchat/skills detect.
  • .cometchat/config.json can now hold your Auth Key, so it's written owner-only (0600) and added to .gitignore.
