Aura 7.7
Music you can see, and Aura in your language.

Music scenes are off until you switch them on. The films stream from Apple, about 2–3 GB an hour while they show. The list of films comes from Aerial for Windows (MIT).

Update: Settings → Updates in Aura. Your settings stay.
Aura 7.6.1
A stability update. 7.6.1 fixes most of the crashes and bugs you reported, Fire TV Sticks especially, and makes Aura smoother and steadier day to day.

Also new
- Music, front and centre: while a song plays, one card with its cover replaces the widgets and app cards. OK opens a new full-screen Now Playing, tinted by the album art, whose controls fade away while you listen. Hold OK on the card to minimise it. Control Center shows the song too.
- Turn off Google TV's home screen from the welcome or Settings → Set up on this TV. The remote's profile and notification buttons then open Aura's own screens. Nothing is deleted, and it can be turned back on any time.
- Bluetooth sheet in Control Center, wireless debugging setup for TVs without USB debugging, and a new built-in wallpaper for TVs without internet.
- The screensaver now shows photographs and famous quotes. Museum, Live wind and Tonight's sky are gone, which also makes Aura much smaller.
Fixed
- Continue watching re-downloaded every picture on each Home press, and one app's broken entry could empty the whole row.
- An app's cards could appear before the dock when the TV started or woke.
- Back did nothing on the top buttons, Top Shelf and the dock's widgets. From a page opened straight from the remote, Back now returns to where you were.
- A memory leak in the screensaver, and several smaller layout and focus fixes.
Updating from 7.5? Run Settings → Set up on this TV → Switch everything on once, so the remote's Profile button opens Aura's picker. 7.6 also clears the old screensaver's downloaded videos and paintings to free space.
This is a big release: more features means more room for bugs. If something looks off, please open an issue or tell me on Reddit, and it'll be fixed in the next build.

Aura 7.4
New
- Recent apps, like tvOS: press Home twice and the app you're in fills a big card showing its last screen, with older apps stacked behind it. ▲ closes an app, Close all clears them and shows the memory you got back, and ● Playing now marks what's playing.
- A screensaver worth looking at: Museum hangs masterpieces from the Art Institute of Chicago, Live wind draws the real wind around you right now, Tonight's sky shows the real stars, Moon and planets over your city, and a photo mosaic. Auto moves between them through the day.
- No computer needed: Settings → Set up on this TV connects to the TV itself and switches everything on that used to need a PC.
- The Home button in apps: Home twice opens recent apps over the app you're in; hold Home for Control Center.
- Remote buttons: give a spare button on your remote an app.
- A welcome on first open, and Make Aura your home asks Android for you.
- Screensaver controls in Settings → Wallpaper: when it starts and when the TV turns itself off.
Fixed
- Aura didn't appear in the TV's app list after installing, so it couldn't be opened. It does now.
- A switched-on HDMI device (like a soundbar) could fill the screen with black. Live previews of inputs are now off by default, and any input tile can be hidden (hold OK).
- Home now closes Settings and other open panels.
- Recent apps lag, and the screensaver repeating the same photographs.

Aura 7.3
New
- A premium Smart Stack: cards flip upward like iOS widgets, with your app's icon, a NEW badge for fresh episodes, and colours from each show's artwork. It now includes what's new today on the streaming apps you have (Indian releases first) and Tonight's pick. Press ↑ to flip by hand.
- Four tile styles: Glass, Vivid, Midnight or Original. Choose one in Settings → Tiles.
- Block ads: stops ad and tracker servers in every app. Pick from six filters or add your own, and Find the fastest tests each one from your TV.
- Send apps from your phone: scan the QR code in Settings → From your phone and pick an .apk. The TV asks before installing it.
- Speed test and the network's name in the Wi-Fi sheet.
- Animations: speed up the whole TV (Normal, Fast or Off).
- Update reminder: Aura tells you once when a new version is out, with a small red dot on Settings.
Fixed
- An app's last picture stayed on screen after pressing Home.
- App time reset after a restart.
- Continue Watching disappeared.
- Settings rows were cut off.
Update: on 7.2, open Settings → Updates. New users: follow Install in four steps in the README. Run tools\setup-aura.ps1 again so Aura gets the new permissions it needs (memory names, Wi-Fi name).

Aura 7.2
Aura 7.2 is a fifth of the size: 2.8 MB.
New
- From your phone: Settings → From your phone shows a QR code. Scan it, pick photos or GIFs, and they land on the wall. Remove any of them from the TV or the phone.
- Hold OK on an app to move it, hide it, see its info or uninstall it.
- Hold OK on a widget to move it or hide it. The others widen to fill its place.
- Updates: Settings → Updates installs new releases straight from here.
- Data used today is shown in the Today widget.
- Pure black wallpaper for OLED screens.
- The status pill steps aside when your apps scroll beneath it.
Fixed
- The widgets no longer fade out when you move to the second row of apps.
Install: save Aura.apk as launcher/Aura.apk in a clone of the repo, then follow Install in four steps in the README. If you're on 7.1 or later, use Settings → Updates instead.
Aura 7.0
Aura 7.0: frosted glass over living photographs, for Android TV 8.0+.

- Smart Stack: full-bleed cards that change on their own. They show Continue Watching with the time left, the app you usually open at this hour, your last app and what you watched most today.
- Now Playing: the Today widget becomes a play/pause control while something plays.
- Live previews: a switched-on HDMI source shows its picture inside its tile.
- Weather: shown in the status bar, Control Center and on the screensaver, with sunrise and sunset for your city.
- Control Center: a Wi-Fi sheet (on/off, disconnect, nearby networks) and Tonight's pick, a top-rated show with its trailer.
- Sky moments: a small card when the light turns. The photograph changes with it.
- Settings: glass or original tiles, app names, hidden apps and the weather city, plus a switch for every extra.
- The grid stops at its last row with a soft bounce.
