Version 1.4 breaks software compatibility with previous ROMS and server. Upgrade the whole pack (ROM, msxpi-server and client commands). There is no need to update the CPLD firmware - it is unchanged in this release. The documentation is very outdated - for reference, look the new source code, they have plenty of information for developers.
