Solid GPUI 0.4.1

Fixes

  • Fix macOS blurred window backgrounds with AppKit's Sidebar material and explicit behind-window blending. Remove the custom visual-effect subclass and private layer/filter rewriting; AppKit owns tint, saturation and accessibility adaptation. Resolves #3.
  • Reverify the existing output-dependent window-movement invalidation repair: passive movement preserves observers without rebuilding the full tree, while resize, scale, display, visual state and relevant pointer changes still invalidate. Resolves #2 at the implementation level; Windows native CPU qualification remains outstanding.
  • Fix a stale GPUI line-clamp test constructor for the 0.3.7 font-generation API.
  • Preserve LF native Rust contracts in Windows release checkouts.

Distribution

All four npm packages and the Rust workspace are versioned 0.4.1. Use the matching v0.4.1 native sources and rebuild your host to receive the macOS fix; updating JavaScript packages alone does not replace native code.

Release automation publishes @solid-gpui/core, @solid-gpui/vite, @solid-gpui/router and @solid-gpui/shiki, and attaches Gallery Desktop archives for macOS Apple Silicon, Linux x86-64 and Windows x86-64 when their respective workflows complete.

Gallery Desktop embeds QuickJS and requires no Bun or Node installation. macOS archives are ad hoc signed, not notarized; Windows archives are unsigned. Linux uses the Ubuntu 24.04 baseline and requires native system libraries and a working graphics stack.

Verification scope

Window-movement regressions passed 8/8. A real macOS 27.0 AppKit lifecycle test passed for initial blur, repeated enable, opaque/transparent transitions and repeated resizing. Website tests passed 7/7 with 3,132 assertions. Native property checks do not establish compositor blur quality: high-contrast background text, focus/movement, Reduce transparency and other supported macOS versions still require visual qualification.
