Fork of 1264459640/dsh-scratchpad (MIT), maintained because upstream has had no commits since 2026-08-30 and no longer works on current DeepSeek Harness.

Fixed on current harness

  • Clicking the entry did nothing. startSession moved to the uiWorkspace service; upstream still called workspaces.startSession, so every click threw a TypeError the handlers swallowed, while the host quietly created blank sessions the sidebar never shows. The capability is now resolved instead of assumed: uiWorkspace.startSession first, workspaces.startSession as the fallback, and a rejection that names the missing capability when neither exists.
  • The sidebar entry vanished. The primitives package renamed IconXxx16 to IconXxx<Weight><Size>; upstream's references resolved to undefined, React threw #130, and the crash took the whole sidebar.footer.action entry down. Icons now resolve from a candidate list with a bundled inline-SVG fallback.

Changed

  • The entry sits beside the shell's new-session button - two 50% controls in one row - instead of a full-width section above the workspace list. If the shell button cannot be located it falls back to the section, then to a footer button.
  • Renamed to dsh-scratchpad-plus (the upstream package name belongs to upstream). The loader row id stays scratchpad, so an in-place swap never mounts two entries.
  • Test-harness fixes so npm test is green inside a harness and on macOS.
  • CI runs on main; the release workflow no longer publishes to npm from CI, because a fork does not inherit the NPM_TOKEN secret. Publish by hand when wanted: npm publish --access public --registry=https://registry.npmjs.org/.

Your data is untouched: this fork uses the same ${DSH_HOME:-~/.dsh}/scratchpad and projects directories.

Verified

Checked against the published @deepseek-ai/dsh-client-ui-workspace 0.1.7-rc.2 and 0.2.1-alpha.1 and @deepseek-ai/dsh-client-ui-primitives 0.1.7-rc.2; npm test is 7/7. The paired layout was verified in a real headless render.
