0.153.0: Claude participants receive JPEG screenshots
humanish 0.153.0 sends each screenshot to a Claude participant as JPEG at quality 75, the
encoding Anthropic's computer-use reference uses, in place of PNG. A Claude request carries every
screenshot since the last compaction, and on a movie game's full-screen stills PNG requests
reached 19.55 MB of the API's 32 MB limit. On a 30-minute remote run with JPEG frames the largest
request was 2.75 MB, and the participant still read room codes, titles and scores from the
screen. Run bundles keep the lossless frames. Remote and reclaim lines now name the sandbox
provider for Modal runs as well as E2B.
Changed
- Claude participants receive each screenshot as JPEG at quality 75, the encoding Anthropic's
computer-use reference uses, in place of PNG. Frames of a movie game's full-screen stills went
from about 423 KB to 77 KB, and on a 30-minute remote run the largest request fell from 19.55 MB
to 2.75 MB, against the Messages API's 32 MB limit. Run bundles keep the lossless frames. OpenAI
participants still receive PNG.
Fixes
reclaimand a stopped run's last line no longer say "E2B lists" for a Modal run; they name the
provider generically. The line a remote run prints before it starts says "adds it" and "as an
environment variable" when there is one key.
