@danieljsaldana danieljsaldana released this 29 Oct 19:32

First public release of Goliat - Cloud Inventory, a self-hosted Microsoft Azure inventory and FinOps dashboard.

Website and live demo: https://danieljsaldana.github.io/goliat-cloud-inventory/

Highlights

  • Inventory — 73 views across 12 Azure service groups with overviews, interactive charts, subscription filters, search, column filters, grouping, sorting, pagination and export.
  • Global search (Ctrl+K / ⌘K) across resources, tags, subscriptions and views.
  • FinOps — actual and amortized costs from Azure Cost Management, by month, subscription, service and resource. Missing data or permissions are shown explicitly, never as zero cost.
  • Administration — Azure Function status and metrics, PostgreSQL and Blob Storage health, inventory synchronization, collector schedule and monitored tag keys.
  • Members — optional role management backed by Microsoft Entra ID and PostgreSQL.
  • Architecture view — interactive diagrams of the application and the Azure deployment.
  • Authentication — Microsoft Entra ID (single tenant, PKCE, Auth.js) or demo mode; pages and data APIs are protected server-side.
  • Atomic snapshots — each import runs in one PostgreSQL transaction; a failure keeps the previous snapshot.
  • Spanish and English UI.

Components

  • Next.js 16 web application and backend (Node.js ≥ 22.12, PostgreSQL).
  • Azure Functions collector (functions/) using Resource Graph and ARM with managed identity.
  • Infrastructure as code (iac/): Bicep + PowerShell for Function App, Storage, App Service, PostgreSQL Flexible Server and Entra registrations.
  • Docker Compose example for self-hosting.
