Account

This page describes what users can do with their own account: sign up, confirm the email and reset the password. Sending these emails requires the mail settings described in Installation.

Users can also sign in with single sign-on when it is configured. Their account must still exist in Databucket.

On the login page, click Don't have an account? and fill in the user name, email and password (twice). When reCAPTCHA is enabled in the configuration (recaptcha.enabled), the form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA.

After signing up:

  1. Databucket creates the account with the MEMBER role. The account stays disabled until the email is confirmed.
  2. You receive an email with a confirmation link, valid for 48 hours.
  3. After you open the link, the account is enabled and you receive a confirmation email.

A new account is not assigned to any project. Ask an administrator (a user with the SUPER role) to assign you to a project, see Manage users.

Each email can be used by only one account.

Forgot password

On the login page, click Forgot your password? and enter the email of your account.

  1. You receive an email with a link, valid for 48 hours.
  2. After you open the link, you receive a second email with a temporary password.
  3. Sign in with the temporary password. Databucket then asks you to set a new password.

To prevent abuse, each of these emails is sent at most once every 48 hours. If you don't see it, check your inbox and spam folder for the previous one.

A user with the SUPER role can also reset a user's password in Manage users. Databucket generates a new random password, which the administrator passes to the user; the user has to change it at the next sign-in.

Change password

Databucket asks you to change your password after you sign in with a temporary password or with a password set by an administrator. Enter the new password twice.
