Captylo 1.0.17
Captylo 1.0.17
One Captylo at a time
- No more double Captylo. Starting Captylo while it already runs now brings the running copy forward instead of opening a second one. Before, a second copy could start when the app was launched from a script or a terminal, and you got two menu bar icons and every dictation twice.
--helpand--version. Running the app from a terminal with--helpor--versionprints a short help or the version and quits, without opening the app.--mcpfor your AI assistant works as before.
Fixes
- Changing the app language or granting Accessibility still restarts Captylo cleanly.

Notes everywhere
- Ask across your meetings and notes. "Ask all" (Pro) now also reads your notes. Answers cite them as N1, N2, and a click on a citation or a source opens the note.
- Notes for your AI assistant. The MCP server (Settings, off by default) gets two new tools, list_notes and get_note, and search_meetings also lists the notes it finds. It stays read-only and works offline.
- Short titles. A note without a title shows its first sentence, cut to a few words, instead of the whole paragraph. With AI on, Captylo gives a new or changed note a short title of its own. A title you type always wins.
Fixes
- A note left empty after New note disappears when you leave it.
- If a voice note cannot be transcribed, the message says the recording is kept in Notes and offers Open.
- ⌃⌥⌘N while a recording is still being transcribed tells you to wait; the menu item reads Stop recording while something records.
- What you dictate into a note is never lost, even if you switch to another note before the text arrives.
- Open on an older note selects it in the list.
- The import status in Notes can be hidden and clears when you leave Notes.
- Meetings says "No meetings" when only notes match your search.
- Recordings of notes that were never saved are cleaned up at launch.

New: Notes
Captylo now has a third section next to Meetings and History: Notes. Everything stays on your Mac and works in the free plan.
- Write, dictate or record. Create a note with New note and type, or press Dictate to speak more of it. Your usual dictation shortcut also works inside a note.
- A voice note from any app: ⌃⌥⌘N. Press it anywhere, say what you want to remember, press it again. Nothing is pasted: the recording and its transcript go to Notes, and the "Note saved" message opens it. You can turn the shortcut off in Settings, and the menu bar has New voice note.
- Import recordings. Import recording (or drag audio files onto Notes) turns recordings and voice messages from messengers into notes with their transcript. If a recording cannot be transcribed, the note keeps it and offers Try again.
- Tidy up with AI. Run a note through any of your AI modes (Cleanup, Organize thoughts, Task list or your own). Restore original brings back your text. In Free it uses your own key, in Pro it runs on Captylo AI.
- Search. Notes has its own search, and a search in Meetings also lists the notes it finds ("Also in notes").
Under the hood
- Your data is ready for the coming sync between devices: every change now records when and on which Mac it happened, and deletions are remembered. Nothing leaves your Mac yet.
- The search index is rebuilt once after the update, so notes can be found.

Changes
- Fixes made right before Enter are learned. In chat boxes and in Claude Code you often fix a word and press Enter at once, and the box clears before Captylo could read the fix. While you edit a dictated text, Captylo now reads the field ten times a second, so the last version before Enter counts.
- Short dictations are learned too. When you dictate one to three words and retype them as a whole ("supa bejs" → "Supabase"), Captylo treats it as one fix of a misheard word. Until now such a change looked like a rewrite and was skipped.
- Fix a word with your voice. Select one to three words of a text you dictated in the last two minutes and dictate them again. The new take replaces the selection, and Captylo remembers the pair, just like a fix typed by hand. You will see "Remembered: … → …" with Undo, and every decision is listed in Dictionary > Recently noticed.

Changes
- Pick the app language. Settings > Basic > App > App language: Same as macOS, Polski or English. Until now Captylo always followed the language of macOS, so on a Mac set to English it showed English even to Polish speakers. The new language appears after a restart, and the Restart button waits until a recording is finished.
- Language switch on the welcome screen. The first setup screen has a Polski | English switch, so you can change the language before the setup starts.
- Links in your language. With Polish selected, the captylo.com link, the coffee page, the thank-you page after buying Pro and the subscription pages open in Polish, and the payment page opens in Polish too.

Changes
- Dictation no longer hangs on "Transcribing". When the local model is still being prepared (on the first launch, or after macOS clears its caches), Captylo says so right away and transcribes the recording in the cloud if you have Pro or your own key. Without the cloud it waits for the model for at most a minute and a half, then asks you to try again instead of hanging.
- Low disk warning. When less than 1 GB is left on the disk, Captylo warns you before recording. A full disk could silently stop recordings and the model preparation.
- Calmer model optimization. The Models tab shows a single indicator, with the time the model preparation has taken so far next to it.
- Account and invoices in the browser. Settings > Captylo account has a link to the account page at app.captylo.com: your plan, usage and invoices.

Changes
- Fix the selected text: ⌃⌥⌘P. Select a misrecognized word in any app, press ⌃⌥⌘P and type the correct version. Captylo replaces the text and learns it right away. The small window shows up front what it will do: remember the word, or only replace the text because the change alters the meaning. In many apps the right click works too: Services > Fix with Captylo.
- See what Captylo learns. The Dictionary has a new "Recently noticed" list: every correction Captylo saw and what it did with it, and when it remembered nothing, why. A word you undid earlier can be unblocked with one click.
- Pro after a meeting. In Free, the meeting transcript shows what Pro would add: AI notes, speaker labels and Ask. A new account gets 7 days of Pro for free, no card needed.

- 7 days of Pro to start stays. A new account still gets a week of Pro for free after signing in, no card needed.
- Captylo in action. captylo.com has short videos: dictation, AI modes and meeting notes, each in about fifteen seconds.
