• In-headset settings — Hold Grip on the panel hand for about 0.8 seconds to open settings in VR. Apply changes for the current session or save them. The VR menu and desktop configurator share the Korean, English, or Japanese language preference.
• 6DoF controls — Click the left stick to recenter and the right stick to toggle between following the game camera and using a fixed viewpoint. Hold the right Grip and pull your hand to move the viewpoint with World Grip.
• VR post-processing — Choose the existing default bloom preset A or the new preset B. B keeps the game's bloom intensity and adjusts diffusion to the stereo projection.
• VR hand display — Show tracked hand positions in live and non-live 3D stereo scenes. Toggle this in the desktop configurator or VR menu.

v0.174.0 is a stable release that keeps the 6DoF and roll-isolation behavior hardware-approved in v0.173 while revising product defaults.

• Independent live 6DoF is enabled by default
• Default snap turn changes from 15° to 30°
• Default movement speed changes from 1.50m/s to 1.95m/s (exactly 1.3×)
• 15°/30°/45°/60° choices, smooth turning, hand swapping, and physical HMD roll preservation remain available
• Korean, English, and Japanese configurator text and default restoration are updated

Updates preserve an existing vrmod/config/settings.json. Existing saved values therefore remain unchanged. To apply the complete new profile, load Defaults in the configurator and save.

This release passed automated tests, builds, and package validation for the default changes. A separate v0.174 VR hardware run has not yet been performed; v0.173 remains the hardware baseline for the underlying 6DoF and roll-isolation behavior.

v0.173.0 is the first stable baseline whose configuration, installation, secure update flow, and general 6DoF controls have all been approved in user VR hardware testing.

Highlights:

• Positional 6DoF in non-live 3D scenes and optional independent live 6DoF
• Left-stick world-axis view turning and right-stick full-3D final-view locomotion by default, with swappable hands
• 15° snap turn by default; 15°/30°/45°/60° or smooth turning
• No roll from scene or stick rotation; only the user's physical HMD roll delta is preserved
• Korean-default Korean/English/Japanese configurator
• Manual VFX controls and eye render scale 0.50–2.00 with a high-scale warning
• Clean installation, Localify coexistence, manifest-owned uninstall, and rollback
• GitHub stable Release update checks with ZIP/SHA-256 verification

Install by extracting the ZIP, closing the game, and running GakumasVR.Installer.exe. Configure the installed mod with vrmod/GakumasVR.Configurator.exe.

Hardware validation used Meta Quest 2 with Virtual Desktop OpenXR. SteamVR OpenXR and Meta Quest Link/Air Link remain preliminary and untested by this project. Direct touch and the live upper-left clock regression check were excluded from this completion scope.

• Raised the per-eye render scale range from 0.50–1.00 to 0.50–2.00.
• Added live, value-dependent GPU load warnings to the configurator.
  • 1.01–1.25: above the OpenXR-recommended resolution
  • 1.26–1.50: high GPU load
  • 1.51–2.00: extreme load with TDR/game-exit warning
• The warning shows estimated pixel load relative to scale 1.00.
• Added Korean, English and Japanese warning text.

Important

• Render scale affects immersive 3D stereo rendering, not the flat front/hand panel source.
• Scale 2.00 renders four times as many pixels as 1.00.
• Values above 1.00 are build/config validated but still awaiting hardware VR validation.
• Unique stereo rendering is currently game-rate (~59 fps measured); OpenXR submission is near 120 Hz and is not 120 unique rendered frames.
