TallyBar 1.4.0

Added

  • A download for Apple Silicon, ad-hoc signed, with first-launch steps in the README.
  • TallyBar --help. Unknown options now print the usage and exit instead of starting.
  • The invoice form says what is missing: a number, a client, a date range that runs
    backwards or a negative tax rate.
  • Launch at Login explains when macOS is waiting for approval in System Settings.
  • SECURITY.md, issue and pull request templates.

Changed

  • Everything the panel and windows do now lives on the app model and is covered by
    tests: clients, entries, CSV export, invoices, away time and Launch at Login.
  • Negative hourly rates are refused. Currency codes are stored upper case.
  • Invoice file names replace slashes and colons from the invoice number.
  • CI pins Xcode 16.4 and lints with --strict.

Install

Download Tallybar-1.4.0.zip (Apple Silicon, macOS 14 or later), double-click it and
drag TallyBar.app to /Applications.

The app is ad-hoc signed and not notarized. On first launch macOS says it could not
verify the app: click Done, then open System Settings > Privacy & Security and
click Open Anyway next to the TallyBar message. Or, in Terminal:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/TallyBar.app

Check the download:

Intel Macs and anyone who prefers it can build from source:
