A bug-fix release: the editor selection reaches the LLM on the prompt it was made for, and the agent's run_command tool can no longer hang on commands that never exit or wait for input.

Fixed

  • fix(context): the editor selection is sent on the same turn, and user-attached files no longer vanish. The selection was attached after the attached-file list was collected, so it arrived one prompt late or not at all. It is now attached first. An explicit selection is always sent; Include currently open file now only governs whole files. A file with a selection is sent as the full file (marked for reference only) followed by a <SelectedCode lines="X-Y"> block, with a note that "this code / this method" refers to the selection. Auto-attached files are sent in full only up to 8,000 characters or when the setting is on; otherwise the LLM gets the path to read more. Files you attach yourself are always sent in full. Since #942, every prompt also cleared all non-image attachments; now only the previously auto-attached editor file is replaced. Add snippet uses the same format (#1320, #1361)
  • fix(agent): run_command timeouts fire for long-running and interactive commands. Output was read until the stream closed and only then was the timeout checked, so commands that don't exit (npm run dev, ./gradlew bootRun, cmd &) or that wait for input hung the agent forever. Output is now read on a background thread so the timeout runs while the command is alive; stdin comes from the null device, so commands reading input get end-of-input instead of waiting; child processes are killed on timeout as well as the shell; and if a background child keeps the output open after the shell exits, the output read so far is returned after a 1 s grace period (#1317, #1318)
