What's new in v3.2.0

⚠️ Breaking change

  • Minimum supported Python is now 3.12 (#989). MIKE IO follows SPEC 0, under which Python 3.11 left the 3-year support window in 2025-Q4. Raising the floor also keeps MIKE IO installable alongside current scientific-stack releases (e.g. NumPy 2.5, which itself requires Python ≥3.12).

New features

  • Public z coordinate accessor for layered dfsu DataArrays (#977).
  • title attribute on Dataset and the DFS file readers (#888).

Bug fixes

  • Fix a crash when reading a dfs0 whose item name matches a reserved attribute (e.g. an item named z) (#982).
  • concat now validates and rejects duplicate timestamps instead of silently producing an invalid result (#957).
