Discrete Wallet v.0.9.6

Payment requests

• New payment request dialog with a QR code and a Copy share link button, so a
  request can be scanned in person or pasted into a chat and opened in a browser.
• Requests now use your verified account number when one is available, which is what
  makes them small enough to be a QR code at all. The dialog states which form was used:
  • using a verified account number — scannable as a QR code,
  • using a verified account number, but too large for a QR code,
  • the account number is not payable yet — full address used, too large for a QR code,
  • no payable account number could be verified — full address used, too large for a QR code.
• Creating a request no longer hangs on a slow node. The account-number lookup gets ten
  seconds; after that the request is completed with your full wallet address instead of
  waiting. A late reply can no longer overwrite a request you have already created.

Receive tab

• The full receiving address moved into a single-line Full receiving address field with
  a note explaining that it always works, and that payment requests use your account number
  when one is available.

Payment request links

• discrete: and discrete:// links open in the wallet and fill in the Send form,
  including amount and label.
• A malformed amount, or one above the wallet limit, is rejected with a clear message
  instead of silently producing a wrong draft.
• Opening a request while a Send draft is in progress now asks before replacing it.
• A link that arrives before any wallet is open is handled instead of being dropped.

Sending

• A tracking (view-only) wallet now says plainly that it cannot send payments.

Translations

• Payment request dialog text is now translatable.

Discrete Core

This build bundles
Discrete Core v.0.9.8,
up from v.0.9.6 in the previous wallet release. What matters for wallet users:

• Closing the wallet no longer hangs when the node is unreachable or stops responding.
  HTTP requests are bounded and in-flight node calls are interruptible, so shutdown
  completes instead of waiting forever.
• Recovery phrases must be a complete, checksummed 25 words. The old 12- and 24-word
  Electrum forms are refused: 12 words carried only half the entropy of a real seed, and
  neither form was checksum-verified, so a dropped or mistyped word restored a different,
  empty wallet with no warning. Phrases produced by Discrete wallets are unaffected.
• A recovery phrase pasted with line breaks, tabs or extra spaces is now accepted.
• Tracking key export is a first-class operation, and view-key export no longer hands
  back a key of all zeros.
• Node status can no longer read past the end of the block list on a fresh chain.
• New mainnet checkpoint at height 10000.
• Sync hardening: node responses are validated for out-of-range block heights, and HTTP
  bodies are read as they arrive rather than reserving whatever size a peer claims.

Mining is unchanged in the GUI. It already waited for the node to be synchronized before
hashing; core gained the same rule for its own console, RPC and headless paths.

Discrete Wallet v.0.9.4

This is important update

• H-I-A-T-C deposit-subaddress scanning previously folded the routing index T into the outContext hash used to derive each output's AEAD key, so a receiver had to guess T by brute force (scanPqOutputTWindow, bounded by the wallet's local depositCount) before it could decrypt. That made deposit funds unrecoverable from the seed alone if the wallet-file's deposit count was ever lost.
• outContext now depends only on inputsHash/kemCt/outputIndex (new domain discrete-pq-out-context-v2); T travels solely inside the already-encrypted payload and is read back after a single decrypt. Uniqueness still comes from kemCt (ML-KEM encapsulation is randomized), unaffected by this change.
• outContext is never validated by consensus — only the wire sizes and signing digest are — so this is a wallet-software-only change: no fork, no genesis change, no wire format change.
