Overview

v32.6.0 expands the repository's AI-agent workflow across Pi, Herdr, Vellum, and OpenCode, while speeding up shell startup and refreshing core runtimes and editor tooling.

Notable changes

  • Pi now has Vim-style prompt editing, Herdr agent-state reporting, and Neovim context sharing for the current file or visual selection. Its configured model list is reduced to openai-codex/gpt-5.6-sol.
  • Herdr command and workspace selection moves from Television and the old herdr-* scripts to Vellum. New palettes cover commands, files, workspaces, and agents; prefix+shift+j opens the agent picker, and prefix+u opens the current PR or falls back to the repository.
  • OpenCode gains a responsive Git status footer and a compact Vim-mode indicator on narrow terminals. Playwright and Chrome DevTools MCPs now use Mise-managed executables, while GitHub MCP traffic goes through a local proxy.
  • Pitchfork is added to install and sync to enable boot startup for the ghtkn agent and GitHub MCP proxy. ghtkn also gets app provisioning, short-lived-token refresh, and Mise credential integration.
  • Zsh startup avoids several subprocesses, caches Vivid colors and completion metadata, compiles Zinit, and cleans stale completions.
  • Neovim moves nvim-colorizer to the maintained catgoose fork and makes Tree-sitter parser updates wait reliably for completion. Amp now disables commit co-author attribution.
  • Toolchains move to Node.js 26, Python 3.14, Go 1.27, Elixir 1.20.3, Lua Language Server 3, and ShellCheck 0.11; plugin and lockfile versions are refreshed throughout.

Migration notes

  • Run task sync after updating. This now enables and starts Pitchfork-managed global daemons on macOS and Linux.
  • The opt-in ghtkn tasks moved from task github:ghtkn:git:configure to task ghtkn:git:configure. New setups must authorize with ghtkn auth -p dkarter/write; task ghtkn:unlock enables silent refresh through 1Password.
  • Custom integrations calling bin/herdr-commands, bin/herdr-workspaces, bin/herdr-command-definitions, or the removed Television cables must migrate to the corresponding Vellum palettes.
  • Review compatibility before accepting the major runtime upgrades. Also note that task mise:sync now creates a chore(mise): update lockfiles commit when Mise lockfiles change.
