Added

  • You can delete your wallet backup from your relays. A red Delete backup link in the Wallet tab’s Backup card asks first, then replaces the encrypted copy with an empty one and asks relays to forget it. Your connected wallet stays.
  • The livestream chat has the composer’s emoji picker. A smiley opens the same nine groups and search above the message field, and a pick goes in at the caret. Hide chat is now a chevron beside it.

Changed

  • New installs start with auto-lock at 30 minutes, up from 15, and the PIN reminder lets you pick the time right away. Existing installs keep the time they have.
  • Snort joins the apps on the Welcome page.
  • Aqstr joins the apps on the Welcome page.
  • The “Use Sidecar” Lightning offer no longer names a site. The choice covers every page, but the card said it was about whichever page you opened first, such as Google.
  • A profile with both a Lightning address and a CLINK offer pays through a Lightning | CLINK switch. The two buttons looked alike, so it was unclear which kind of payment was about to go out. The routes are now tabs above the pay panel, shown only when a profile has both, and the bolt reopens on the one you used last.

Fixed

  • A zap with a comment shows in a livestream’s chat and its zap total. Alby’s servers write the comment into the invoice instead of the hash that NIP-57 asks for, and the chat rejected those zaps while Zap.stream shows them. The chat now counts them, and still rejects a receipt that carries a hash for some other request.
  • The lock screen no longer says “Locked since your browser closed” after you press the lock button. With auto-lock on Never, every lock got that line, because a browser close was the only lock it had in mind. Sidecar now records why it locked, and the line appears only when nothing else did.
  • The notifications sheet no longer opens empty when you open it right after the panel loads. The notes were arriving a moment after the refresh icon stopped spinning, and only closing and reopening the sheet showed them. It now waits for them.
  • Restoring from the encrypted backup sheet’s PDF file works. The sheet sets its key on two lines, and the reader took only the first, so the import failed with “Incorrect password, or not a valid ncryptsec key.” It now reads both lines, and a key copied from the sheet in two pieces pastes into the import field as one. Sheets you already printed or saved are read the same way.
  • Zapping a profile that carries a CLINK offer is a real zap now. The offer panel asked for and paid the invoice without a signed zap request, so the service could only treat the payment as spontaneous: sats arrived and no kind 9735 receipt was ever published, and no client showed a zap. It now sends the same signed 9734 the lightning-address path does, naming the payer, and the offer handoff on a comment sheet carries the same disclosure the zap handoff has — another wallet scanning the QR pays the author, but only this panel's payment zaps the comment.
  • A moved CLINK offer is followed once instead of failing. Error code 3 may carry latest, a fresh noffer1… string; Sidecar now retries against it without rewriting the stranger's profile, refuses a successor that does not decode, and never follows a chain longer than one.
  • You can zap another account in your own keystore. Sending was blocked on every account you hold, so one of your accounts could not pay another. Only the account you are signed in as counts as you.
  • A profile opened from search shows its CLINK offer. The offer string, cut short and copyable, now sits under the address the way it does on your own profile.
  • The composer’s emoji picker starts clean each time it opens. A search stayed in the field after you picked an emoji, so the next open showed the same word and the same results. It now clears on every close, and the group you were browsing stays put when you had not searched.
  • The offer to make Sidecar your default Lightning wallet waits until you have added a wallet. It could appear during setup, over the screen that creates the keystore, when another wallet extension answered on the open page. The page is remembered, and the offer comes once your first wallet is connected.
  • The source archive holds CLAUDE.md out along with AGENTS.md, and the build stops on links that point at nothing. CLAUDE.md is a link to AGENTS.md, and holding back only AGENTS.md left an empty CLAUDE.md in 1.16.5’s first build.

Documentation

  • The CLINK entry in WALLET_BACKENDS.md records what actually happened. The spec never became a NIP — the PR was closed unmerged in June 2025 — and the payer side shipped in #359 rather than staying held; the lightning.pub / ShockWallet assessment behind it now ships with the repo as docs/lightning-pub-shockwallet-integration.md, with CLINK Debits parked and tracked in #551.
