docmd@0.9.6 – Focus Mode, Banners & Zero-Config Builds
Focus Mode, Banners & Zero-Config Builds
Release v0.9.6 adds Focus Mode, multi-position banners, richer SEO and knowledge outputs, improved AI Assistant behaviour, automatic file exclusions, and zero-config runtime dependency installation.
Added
- Focus Mode for distraction-free reading, with dedicated print, light/dark mode, keyboard shortcuts, and clean print/PDF output across the Default and Summer templates.
- Multi-position banners across
top,header,sidebar-top,sidebar-bottom,toc-top,toc-bottom, andfooter, with project/version inheritance, Markdown content, actions, variants, and persistent dismissal. - Heading permalink copying - clicking a heading anchor now copies the complete URL with visual confirmation.
- Structured JSON-LD through
@docmd/plugin-seo, includingOrganization,WebSite,BreadcrumbList, and custom frontmatterldJson. - Project-level exclusions using
config.excludeglob patterns, alongside automatic.gitignorefiltering for builds and semantic search. - Post-build asset declarations through
report.resolvedAssets, exposing an immutable snapshot of resolved plugin and template assets to post-build hooks. - AI Assistant message actions for Copy Response, Retry, and Edit Prompt through
plugins.ai.messageActions. - Markdown controls for
markdown.linkify,markdown.typographer, andmarkdown.linkifyDefaultScheme. - Live Editor return navigation back to
docmd.io. - Automatic runtime dependency installation for official templates, plugins, semantic search dependencies, and rendering engines declared directly in configuration.
Improved
- AI Assistant multi-turn reasoning now supports up to six internal turns, giving tool-assisted searches and page reads more room to complete before synthesis.
- AI Assistant streaming now supports live replacement through
meta.replace: true, preventing internal tool markers from leaking into responses. - Added a multi-tier synthesis fallback for queries referencing concepts that are not directly represented in primary navigation.
- Image lightbox behaviour now re-binds correctly across SPA page transitions and includes updated caption and close controls.
- Reading-time calculation now better accounts for code blocks and media.
- Open Knowledge Format output now includes concept descriptions and merges both
tagsandkeywords. - Title handling now supports
layout.titleSeparator,layout.titleAppend, and per-page frontmatter overrides. - HTML
<title>, Open Graph, and Twitter titles now use consistent values. - Card banners in sidebar and table-of-contents positions now default to persistent unless explicitly configured as dismissible.
dismissible, dismissable, andclosableare now supported as banner configuration aliases.- Markdown containers now support additional
title, text, andlabelproperties, while::: details openmatches the existing collapsible behaviour. - Summer template integration now maps shared docmd and plugin CSS variables correctly to Summer theme tokens.
- Added adaptive mobile search to the Summer template with
Cmd/Ctrl+K,/, andEscapekeyboard handling. - Improved Git metadata popovers and AI Assistant input behaviour on smaller screens.
- Updated
lucide-staticto^1.47.0. - Updated
onnxruntime-nodeto^1.27.0for modern Node.js, Apple Silicon, and Linux environments. - Runtime dependencies are now discovered before compilation and installed together in a single batch, preventing npm from pruning packages installed during earlier build stages.
- Runtime package resolution now uses registry-aware versions while restricting automatic installation to recognised docmd packages and dependencies.
Fixed
- Fixed client-side navigation edge cases involving quoted
hrefvalues, external targets, rel="noopener", and root paths. - Fixed escaped sidebar navigation attributes so custom data attributes, ARIA labels, and link properties render correctly.
- Fixed live plugin configuration reloads not updating the active runtime module.
- Fixed KaTeX presets in the Live Editor incorrectly escaping
$$. - Fixed image lightbox bindings being lost after client-side navigation.
- Fixed heading anchors requiring manual URL copying instead of copying the permalink directly.
